Jamaica Hospitality Management
One of the problems with tourism today is many destinations are overhyped. This is problematic, as visitors will receive less, higher prices and large crowds. These factors make the overall experience impersonal. To make matters worse, numerous locations make it difficult to experience culture and expand your horizons. This is because they are focused in taking a one size fits all approach when it comes to the end product.
Jamaica is a place that has something for everyone. It has remained a popular tourist destination for decades. However, many of the spots are not as well-known and there numerous areas which offer a one of kind experience. This allows you to experience the tropical lifestyle and intermingle with different cultures, customs and traditions. ("Visit Jamaica," 2015)
Out of Many One People
Jamaica has a similar heritage, experiences and beliefs as the United States. This is because both were colonies of Great Britain and have tremendous African influences. They are also a large melting pot where different nationalities from around the world relocate. This means they share an identity that is based upon blending different cultures together to form a single nation. ("Visit Jamaica," 2015)
However, Jamaica also has that rugged tropical lifestyle which has been lost in today's world. This is because everyone is focused on staying connected and will live a busy life that does not focus on maintaining balance. The most obvious area is with the national diets. Americans are known for eating unhealthy and exercising less. In many cases, people will use technology to perform various functions for them. What makes Jamaica unique; is many of the foods that are expensive in American supermarkets are in plentiful supply in Jamaica. A few of the most notable include: fish, coconuts, bananas, breadfruit, akee mangos, limes, lemons, watermelon, tea, natural herbs, cabbage, tomatoes and many more. These form the staples of the Jamaican diet. This is combined with these seasonings to create a unique taste without the fat, sodium or calories. The food is one of the reasons why tourists want to visit Jamaica. In a number of cases, they will rent a car and drive all over the island. Along the roadside, are stands where they can purchase these items and many more products for a reasonable price. ("Visit Jamaica," 2015)
The Jamaican dollar is currently trading at an exchange rate of 120.00 to the U.S. dollar. This makes the country a destination where your money will go farther. This means that you can do more activities such as fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet skiing and biking. While at the same time, enjoy a meal at five star restaurants. ("Visit Jamaica," 2015)
Over the years, many Americans came and returned to Jamaica. This is because they fall in love with the island the minute they arrive and they do not want to leave (when it is time for them to depart). These factors and the unique lifestyle choices make it a one of kind destination for everyone to travel to. ("Visit Jamaica," 2015)
