Howard Hughes Medical Institute Mission Research Paper

This is significant, because it shows how the funding and research provided by HHMI is establishing, scientific breakthroughs that are having a profound impact on the lives of millions of people. Evidence of this can seen with the fact that institute is funding 330 investigators in the United States alone (to include seven Nobel Prize winners). At the same time, they are funding research projects in a number of countries around the world such as: the former Soviet Union and South Africa just to name a few. This is important, because it shows how the fortune of Howard Hughes is being used, to benefit millions of people (who are seeking cures for a variety of diseases). (Leung, 2004) Discuss some of the benefits and pitfalls of planning?

The benefits of planning are: you can be able to identify changes coming early and it helps you to have more flexibility. These two elements are important, because they can allow any organization to withstand the various challenges that they face over the short-term, to become successful in the long-term. The pitfalls of planning are: they could cause an organization to move in the wrong...

What happens is many entities will often establish great strategies. However, the problem is that these strategies can lure them, into a false sense of security. Where, no one is looking at possible weakness in the plan. At which point, this can be used to affect the mission of the organization itself.
In regards to short-term and long-term planning, what aspects of both plans in your opinion require the most time? Why?

Implementation. The reason why, is because planning is one part of the process. The actual implementation of the plan is something completely different. This will require the most time and the energy, as host of different uncertainties could occur that may not have been anticipated. Once this takes place, it can require: the most time, additional focus and resources.
