Leadership Training at General Electric Company Leadership experience at GE General Electric has always been touted as one of the most influential corporate organizations across the globe. In the U.S. alone, GE is the leading company as one of the most developed corporate body. At GE, leadership training and development forms the center role that management seeks to enhance. The company has a program where fresh graduates from college are incepted where they join the program to learn the industry's best practices.

The company's leadership is focused on establishing a foundational basis that supports the generation and dissemination of learning objectives that target the population of the youth. The management believes in talent development and the creation of new blood in the organization. Other cases of leadership at the company include training the people on the best industry practices that are done to develop talent.

The talent development at the company is best seen to be growing at such a good pace that there have been cases where other companies poach the employees of this company (General Electric. (n.d.). In every instance, people who have had a chance to work at GE have always portrayed good traits, have practices, and managed to take the industry practices to a higher level. The nature of control that has been witnessed show that GE is a good human resource development organization.

The training are found in all the fields that management has to offer. Over the recent past, the management of the company has been focusing on building networks around the premise of developing contacts with learning institutions. Ideally, students are taken from the colleges and given internship program sessions. During this time, they get the chance to learn the industry's best practices and be in touch with the practical aspects of what they learned while in college (GE Capital, 2013). John F.

Welch Leadership Development Center The founding leader of General Electric Company started this leadership institution. The aim of this institution is to impart sound management knowledge to young professionals who are interested in developing skills useful in management. The management is always committed to acting as a link between the college education and the industry practices. The adoption of this program has ensured that the gap between the school life and the corporate world is narrowed.

Most employers have been complaining that they take in graduates who do not have the requisite skills that can meet the job requirements. Notably, people who are in charge of the working relationships in companies find that fresh graduates are green in matters of what the industry expects from them. It is always seen that the knowledge that is passed on to the students in colleges is not closely linked to the actual work that goes on in real practice. This need led to the formation of this college.

There are always instances where the people in charge of specific tasks in the industry have to seek further specific training relating to the skills necessary when dealing with the changing demands of the workplace. It is always noted that the people in charge of these specialized departmental duties in the workplace always have to deal with the emerging issues that touch on their cases.

However, this has been a challenge because people who come close to dealing with the specific tasks at work have to be mentored into the practice (GE Capital, 2013). Most importantly, the nature of concern that is always raised at the management level is directly related to the challenge of incompetence of most of these fresh graduates. The fresh graduates are always interested in forming alliances with the management on how best to deal with the cases of incompetence.

Since the school schedule is much busy and full of activities, it is not possible to equip the students fully with practical skills that can bring positive results to the workplace (General Electric. (n.d.). The essence of internships is to equip the learners with the appropriate knowledge that relates to the work and that links the theory learned in school and the practical aspect of it.

In most instances, the students only have the theory that relates to the work but cannot move to execute the exact mandate of the people while working independently. It is also noted that clients have high expectations about the kind of service they are to receive from the employees of any organization. To this effect, new employees who are fresh from college normally fail to measure up to the expectations. This justifies the necessity.
