Preliminary Title: Plan Statement for Website development.

Description: The new website will be designed to develop the best online shopping experience for customer. The website will offer genuine discounts that would attract large number of customer.

My preliminary findings are based on what I have I already learnt from D&M (design and management) program in Parsons University. The D&M program has assisted me to understand the aspect of business design. In the program, I have learnt several projects such as studio integrated business portfolio and design learning using wide range of collaborative work and research. Based on the knowledge I have accumulated from the D&M program, I have been able to acquire strategic thinking skills through accumulation of information design, visual communication, reading and writing, as well as entrepreneurship and leadership. I will like to transfer these accumulate knowledge and skills to design a new website named luxurioussimplicity.com. My preliminary findings will assist me to deliver unique business information that would attract customer to the website. (Australian Government Initiative, 2010).

Research Plan

My research plan is to collect data using primary and secondary research. I will collect secondary data from the university library, trade magazines, and articles from the retail sector. Moreover, I will collect data by reviewing newspaper items and other sources such as social media, blogs, and photos and put them in the web pages. The primary data will consist of personal and phone interviews.

The first page of the new website (luxuriousimplicity.com) will consist of Home Page, which will display the picture of the sample of the items to be sold. From the name of the website, simplicity is part of the shopping experience. The website will offer a simple method where a shopper will be able to make online purchase without complication. The Home page is very important in the website, because the lightening and attractiveness of the Home Page will make visitors more comfortable with the website. By designing a dynamic attractive Home page, visitors will like stay much longer on this website than non-attractive Home page. Thus, the Home Page of luxuriousimplicity.com will be designed to reveal a simple interface that will display all items the website is offering for sales. For example, all the items will be displayed in different categories for easy selection of items as well as enhancing customer-shopping experience. The Home Page will be in different layers, the women dress will displayed at the upper part of the Home Page. The women underwear will be displayed at the lower upper part of the Home Page. However, the women evening dress will be displayed at the middle part of the Home Page. The women shoes will at the lower part of the Home Page. All the items will be displayed at the strategic location to assist customer to easily locate the items they are intending to purchase. When a customer decides to shop for women clothes, there would be nothing to distract them besides women's clothes. (Appendix 1 contains the Home Page of the website).

At the Home Page, there will be an advance search column, where it would be easy for customers to locate a dress, designer name, and the size of the dress they are looking for. Moreover, luxurioussimplicity.com will offer a simple and gorgeous show room that will assist customer to search for the match items they are searching. When searching for an item, the website will be designed in such a way that it will suggest some similar items for customer with different color, size, prints and designs. Similarly, the website will be designed to create a unique user profile, and the more customers log in, the more accurate the website will create their profiles. In their profile, customers will provide information on the items they like and the items they do not like. Thus, the user profile will be a system that would know each customer's sizes, and in different brands and this strategy will create a brand advantages for luxuriousimplicity.com.

Typically, luxurioussimplicity.com has some unique features generally different from websites such as Gilt.com or Zappos.com. The features of luxurioussimplicity.com will assist customers to locate what they are searching without problem. More importantly, luxurioussimplicity.com will differentiate itself by offering unique shopping experience for customer due to its overall layout. The best thing about luxurioussimplicity.com is that it is possible for customer to create a unique user profile. Typically, when customers log in, it will be possible to match their profiles with the items in the online catalogues. When making constant online purchase, the luxurioussimplicity.com will use the past shopping history of customer to suggest possible items that would be of interest to customers.

Moreover, luxurioussimplicity.com will offer loyalty card to customers who make regular purchase from the website. To participate for the loyalty card, luxurioussimplicity.com will ask customer to provide personal shopper profile where they could make regular purchase based on the points they have already accumulated with loyalty card system. Moreover, luxurioussimplicity.com will offer a genuine discount for customer, where the website will offer lower price as well as enhancing more customer experience.
