“Super Freaky Girl” by Nicki Minaj is an unapologetically sexually explicit song that sits at the top of the Billboard Hot Top 20. Needless to say, it is a very popular song and has been at the top of the charts for some time. The song emphasizes sexual promiscuity and seems to have no bearing on concepts of love, marriage or family. It is entirely about how the singer uses her sexuality to dominate others.

In her song Nicki Minaj celebrates sexual promiscuity and encourages her listeners to do the same. The song’s title refers to a woman who is “freakier than average,” and the lyrics detail various sexual acts that the singer has participated in. Minaj brags about her own sexual prowess and invites her listeners to join her in embracing their inner “freak.”

While some might see Minaj’s song as empowering, it is important to consider the implications of its message. Encouraging women to embrace their sexuality is undoubtedly a positive step forward in the eyes of some feminists in the West. However, Minaj’s celebration of sexual promiscuity could be seen as damaging to young women who are still developing their own sense of self and sexuality. It can be particularly damaging for a young person who is called by God to the married life. What kind of life can be enjoyed by such a one who is called by God to marry but behaves in such a sexually immoral manner as that promoted by Minaj? It can only lead to a loss of grace in the soul and the potentially permanent turning away of the soul from God. Indeed, by encouraging her listeners to engage in casual sex, Minaj risks sending the message that sexual activity is nothing more than a recreational activity. This could lead young women to develop a skewed view of sex and sexuality, and could ultimately result in them engaging in risky behavior.

Engaging in risky sexual behavior is not in alignment with God’s commandments, particularly the sixth and the ninth, and it does not align well with love, marriage or family because it is not oriented towards them. Sex is seen as an end in itself, when the Church teaches that sex is a procreative activity. Minaj sings about sex as though it were a tool for conquests. Her celebration of sex has nothing to do with love, marriage or family. It is sending completely the wrong message about sex to young listeners. For instance, she raps “I don’t let bitches get to me, I fuck they man if they try / I got a princess face, a killer body, samurai mind.” That lyric, aside from being sexually vulgar, also promotes the idea of revenge—a woman would practice infidelity and get others to do it just to get back at another woman for getting on her nerves.

So it is really no surprise that in recent years, there has been a growing trend in in the world of people shying away from love, marriage and family. This is largely due to the fact that these commitments require a great deal of time, energy and resources. For many people, the fast-paced lifestyle of modern life leaves little room for such commitments. Additionally, the high divorce rate in the world has led many people to believe that marriage is not worth the effort. As a result, fewer people are getting married, and those who do often wait until later in life. The shift away from traditional family values can really be seen in a song like Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl,” which celebrates in a bawdy way how great it is to be sexual and nothing more. It should, therefore, also be no surprise that this type of spiritual shallowness has also contributed to a decline in social cohesion and a rise in loneliness and isolation.
