Technology Plan and Management Operational Plan (with Financials)
Technology Plan
Software needs
The most crucial part of our technology plan for the company is QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and customer relationship management (Hillemane et al., 2019). QuickBooks is key to the accounting system. It fits the small business need with automatic data backup, tracking earnings and expenses, and reporting. Microsoft office is but critical for preparing PowerPoint presentations, excel sheets, and word.
Customer relationship management is software that covers various business interactions that the firm has with its potential clients. This software may assist in ways such as; email response, analytics, marketing automation, customer services, and contract creation and management. This software system runs on the principles of assisting a business to improve client relations and enhancing customer satisfaction through communication and handling the organization in an organized way (Hillemane et al., 2019). The technologies utilized by customer relationship management are divided into three sections; analytical, co-operational, and operational. For our firm, we will have HubSpot customer relationship management software. The HubSpot system charges $150 per month; however, this fluctuates depending on the package.
Hardware Needs
The hardware part required for the enterprise include; Data Show projector, printers, tablets, monitors, routers, and computers. Mobile phones are needed to work with efficient distribution and ensure productive communication between clients and our company. Mobile phones will cost $500, computers $700, monitors $450, tablets $300, printers $400, and projectors will cost $100. One computer desktop at $200, an external hard drive at $50, a network server solution at $250, and a wireless router $100 will be needed for our company’s efficient operations (Hillemane et al., 2019). All these requirements are to be got at a total amount of $3050.
Telecommunication Needs
The firm will utilize private network providers. This will ensure that mobile phones and computers are connected to the internet, and our employees can have smooth communication through emails and calls. The fax machine will cost $80. This will help with the efficient running of our business (Hillemane et al., 2019). Internet is crucial for the successful management of the firm’s website. The firm’s internet connection, including the installation fee, will amount to approximately $200 per month.
Personnel Needs
Generally, the firm will need an effective and active process starting from procurement to our products’ distribution. This can be attained by hiring both full-time and part-time workers to operate the business (Hillemane et al., 2019). Because the workforce for installing our firm’s telecommunication need will be outsourced, this will come to $700 per month. The employees will receive between $300 to $100 depending on their skill level and areas of expertise.
For effective communication to clients and supplies, the firm will use websites, telephone, social media, blogs, and company email (Hillemane et al., 2019). This type of technology needs the workers to be properly trained to use these technological products to communicate with our clients successfully. The firm uses social media platforms and websites to create awareness around our products. This way, our firm can easily get feedback from the customers. To attain this at the functional level, the firm will ensure that all the necessary training is offered to our employees. This will help improve their marketing skills. Inventory management software is a system used to take and track clients’ orders. Firms use it to allow the company to monitor inventory levels and track packages from start to finish.
Management and organization Plan
Management is a critical element of the success of organizations. A management plan should have a clearly defined vision that translates it to the organizational team (Dalmarco et al., 2017). A firm must have a skilled and knowledgeable management team. This will help attract loyal employees, clients, and more investors.
Key Management Employees
Our organization will comprise 17 employees, with me as the president. Among our employees, we will have three smoothie processors who, at the same time, will be nutritionists, an inventory keeper, and two waiters or waitresses. Our waiters or waitresses will have mixologists training (Dalmarco et al., 2017). The Nutritionists will be paid $25 an hour and the waiters/waitresses $20 an hour. Our working hours will run from 9 am to 5 pm.
An advisor
The enterprise required an advisor to guide our daily operations. An advisor with years of experience will be outsourced at a fee of $1,200 per month.
Management hierarchy
Management hierarchy is the managers of an enterprise in the managing performance of its team members (Dalmarco et al., 2017). The management levels include first level, idle level, and top level. Rainbow Smoothie will only have two levels, as it is still a new business. It will have the top-level and first level. I will be the company president, as I will be overseeing the company’s general operations. Under me, the company will have seventeen employees with different roles. The VP marketing will constitute three employees who will do marketing, advertising, and package development. They will be paid $500 each. The VP of human resources will be two who will do personnel training. They will be paid $600 each. The VP Sales will constitute three employees who will do sales and client communication. They will be paid $450 each. The Comptroller will be two employees who will do accounting and purchasing. They will be paid $750 each. The VP operations will be two employees who will do product research and development shipping. They will be paid $800 each.
Social Responsibility Plan
Impact on stakeholders.
The key purpose of Rainbow smoothie is to promote healthy living. Various organizations promote healthy living, and Rainbow Smoothie makes this commitment through healthy living promotion by offering organic smoothies. The increasing number of individuals with obesity is a concern in the community, with the contributory factor being taking unhealthy foods. With organic smoothies and proper propagation of healthy living, our firm will reduce chronic illnesses such as obesity.
Because our workers’ cohesion is our founding principle of coexistence, we will call for each team member’s active participation (Di Benedetto, 2017). This will be by allowing them to contribute ideas in bettering ourselves and that of the company. By accomplishing this, our employees will establish a mutual relationship that fosters a healthy working environment. Under this relationship, the suppliers will be paid on time; clients will be served and received friendly. The staff will be properly trained and motivated to enhance quality in service delivery.
Because the business is a start-up, most of its profits will be plowed back into the business. However, as part of social responsibility adoption, we will participate in health-driven initiatives like community races and exercising competition, where smoothies will be served to the participants at discounted prices (Di Benedetto, 2017). Consequently, these activities will be organized during holidays and weekends so the Rainbow Smoothie team can participate in these activities. We can make the community see the importance of healthy diets as we boost our business’s team spirit.
Environmental impact
Issues concerning environmental conservation are crucial when running the Rainbow Smoothie business. Global warming is increasingly becoming a threat to our today’s world (Di Benedetto, 2017). With the rise in many industries that come up daily, the environment faces several negative effects. Most of these industries release harmful contaminants into the environment. Most of these companies fail to comply with the set standards regarding discharges. Our operations’ negative effects can cause harm to the environment are on matters of littering, waste disposal, and energy usage.
Our firm produces smoothies that are packed on single-serving cups that can easily harm the environment. These disposal cups can easily litter the environment if not managed properly. Our firm will use biodegradable paper cups (Di Benedetto, 2017). For the plastic cups, we will strategically place litter bins in the surrounding regions. This will allow us to collect them for recycling purposes. However, even the environmentally-friendly and recyclable cups would still pollute the environment. Most people will not get to the appropriate recycling facilities for their plastic cups or take them home for reuse.
