Management Tips for Intelligent Group Decisions This article discusses how to facilitate groups to make effective and intelligent decisions in groups - from how to aid the process to ensure the decisions are valuable, to what creates trust and distrust in the group environment. The author maintains wise decisions can come from the group environment, if one understands the underlying dynamics of the group, and overcomes the "groupthink" mentality that can often lead to stagnation and distrust. This article is quite useful for a number of compelling reasons.

First, it is succinct, but still managed to give some excellent advice in a short span. The article uses bullet points so the reader can quickly grasp the main points of the article, while getting the most information possible even while scanning the article. The bullet points encompass the right conditions for intelligent group decisions and tips to improve the decision making process the author has an intelligent writing style that is not too lofty, and ensures most readers will understand the material and the concepts behind it.

Perhaps one of the most useful points the author makes is not to give any one individual in the group too much power, which may make the other members compelled to alter their views to the dominant view of the group. The author also includes a list of references that are useful for delving deeper into the group decision making process. If there is one defect in this article, it is the length.

It makes excellent points in a short, to the point style, but the article lacks depth in some areas. The reader may question some of the author's assertions, but there are no examples or even suggestions for problem areas. Obviously, this is not meant to be a detailed investigation into group decision making, it is meant to be an overview and introduction to.
