During the interview, there were times when directions were asked of the manager from the employees on how to go about tackling a problem. Sometimes the problems were so technical requiring the quoting of laws. I realized that this is a vital part of the managerial skill that has to be cultivated in order to make an effective manager. Also as the manager was doing his rounds, I realized that many people were asking him to solve their problems, be it social or technical, therefore, a leader should be have the ability of solving problems in a logical and reasoned manner and also be able to motivate people towards the efficient completion of tasks. Learning about human resource is vital to understand about the workings of managers and nurses. Through the learning of human resource management, I have been able to better understand the planning of organizations. Through issues like planning and task allocation, I realized that the organization has various people assigned to different tasks and that this is important for the smooth functioning of the organization. Also through this careful planning and allocation of human resources, I realized that an upward channel of communication is created from the employee to the manager, and this makes it faster and easier for the manager to realize mistakes quickly once they happen. I realized further that human resources can improve the impact of management and make the manager to be more effective.

This experience has shifted my thinking and my perception of the managerial positions. My desire as a manager would be to focus more on developing employee relations. One concept of human resource management is to develop these relationships. I believe that good relationships between the manager and employees will lead to more efficient trouble shooting and higher job satisfaction on both sides. My learning experience has shifted me from the notions of human resource as a method of human deployment to the sophisticated outlook of human resource as the utilization of resources.
Summary

Management and Leadership are closely related, but there is always an unseen difference. Managers of medical institutions can also be leaders. From the above data, it is imperative to note that a supervisor in a hospital transacts administrative duties, they motivate and inspire staff accomplish daily tasks. An interpersonal skill is an asset for any leader and future supervisors training on interpersonal skills development is crucial. Interpersonal Skills of a leader are essential in maintaining team relationships and in management of processes. Future leaders should embrace change, improve their interpersonal skills and be people centered.
