In particular, this research proposes that evidence-based care employed at the bedside will lead to a significant reduction of nursing-related errors, and subsequent reductions in unnecessary financial losses by the institution. In this way, the objective is specific, realistic, and measurable. Solution Description Develop a description of the proposed solution.

The proposed solution entails a comprehensive educational program applied in the work setting that will introduce nursing staff to evidence-based practice. Describe the proposed solution. The proposed solution will consist of an intensive leadership development program. Nurse managers will be assigned leadership roles as mentors. They will remain in this capacity for the duration of a year, during which outcomes will be measured.

Nursing staff will be mentored on the use of academic databases, encouraged to patiently verify healthcare solutions and interventions against current literature, and also offered opportunities for professional advancement corresponding with improvement in evidence-based practice. 3. Other resources include the possible purchasing of new computer terminals for access to academic databases. 3. Described the methods for monitoring solution implementation. Monitoring will be accomplished by the researcher and also by the nursing leaders who are participating in the study as mentors. The mentors will be responsible for tabulating daily instances of nursing-related decisions. Also, the computer software will be tracking login and search data.

Using this data will reveal when nurses use evidence-based practice and which procedures or decisions are most likely to be researched in nursing literature. 4.
