When considering examples and models for intercollaboration between services providers its essential to factor the needs of domestic abuse victims. Victims may be both adults or children, and they may present with a wide variety of needs including health issues or injuries, a need for safe housing, mental health needs, issues with employment or schooling, and legal issues related to prospective restraining orders against their abusers or in some cases criminal prosecution of their abusers. Effective services would, therefore, involve in-depth collaboration between social workers, police, attorneys, and counselors or psychologists (Forgey, M, Collarossi, L, 2003).
