¶ … public schooling harming our society? The survey in this research effort will be intended to a randomly selected group of Americans outside the education system. This data will be collected to learn the attitudes and opinion of the public at large in relation to the public education system. The intent is to take a fresh and new look at the overall practicality, effectiveness and economics of the system and to learn what people are thinking about their personal experiences with their schooling.
Focus Group The focus group source of data will help examine the research question by gathering data about how leaders in education are self-assessing their own performance. In this group, the goal is to attain honest and frank responses to important challenges that the public school system is providing. This group should include administrators, teachers, teachers aides, coaches and any other professional working directly in the public school system. The focus group should attempt to find ideas to how the school system could be overhauled.
Data Source 3: Interview The interview source of data of this research question will aim to locate the problems with failures of the public school system. Selected interviews will be conducted with published and outspoken critics of the school system to identify some specific problems that most need addressing. This data will be used to help define the problem areas and to help present and contextualize the problems in a more practical manner.
Peer Review: Data Source 1, Survey The data that can be collected in the surveys are both qualitative and quantitative. Some questions that will be included in the survey will be objective in nature and then classified as qualitative data. Such questions include data about grades, economics and finance, demographics and other numerically-based ideas. Qualitative data ill also be collected in this survey as well. These questions will include ideas about the strength, practicality and effectiveness of the lessons that are being learned or have been learned in the.
