Conclusion

In short, data integration and data quality are not the same things, but they are very closely linked. Can a company have one without having the other? Yes, but to what benefit? If a company has high quality data in every aspect but does not use it for anything, the company is losing out. If a company is very serious about data integration but the data that they are using is low in quality, that company is also losing out. While these two areas are not technically the same, they must be used in concert with one another in order to assure the success of a company, both now and in the future. Often, integration takes place throughout a company but the quality of the data is not as good as would have been hoped for. People ignore problems with data, customers fail to correct discrepancies that they see in their addresses or phone numbers, or they provide misleading information so that the company will not contact them. Some of these things cannot be helped, so there will never be perfect...

...

The companies who store this data, though, must do what they reasonably can to keep their data as pure as possible. It will help them in the long run.
Companies that pay close attention to the quality of their data and make an effort to keep it up-to-date and correct generally do better than companies that ignore quality controls in the face of speed, cost cutting measures, or other reasons. Companies who then take that quality data and integrate it correctly are often the best at what they do, and that shows to their competition and to their competitors. It means a lot less aggravation for those who contact the company more than once, because all of their information is taking down the first time. They can then call any department in the company and their information will be there, and it will be correct. People want to do business with a company like that, because it implies that the customer matters to them. Quality and integration of data are both keys to a strong, successful business.

Insurance Stories The Keystone Effect of Data Integration in Healthcare Coordination Implementation and evaluation of digital projects requires that both system factors and non-system factors be taken into consideration. Invariably, it is the non-system, human variables that present the most substantive challenges to communications and information management staff. The staff responsible for the information management technology supporting the Affordable Care Act foresaw and prepared for a variety of issues that could arise

In addition, the support of multiple taxonomies is also critical for a data warehouse, and to the extent the architects have created a database architecture that will provide for metadata definition and re-defining of taxonomies is the extent to which the data warehouse will have greater use in the organization. Without a strong focus on these aspects of data agility, a data warehouse can quickly become outmoded and only

Data Warehousing: A Strategic Weapon of an Organization. Within Chapter One, an introduction to the study will be provided. Initially, the overall aims of the research proposal will be discussed. This will be followed by a presentation of the overall objectives of the study will be delineated. After this, the significance of the research will be discussed, including a justification and rationale for the investigation. The aims of the study are to

The use of databases as the system of record is a common step across all data mining definitions and is critically important in creating a standardized set of query commands and data models for use. To the extent a system of record in a data mining application is stable and scalable is the extent to which a data mining application will be able to deliver the critical relationship data,

Since poor data quality within a system often results in poor business decisions being made from this data, it is very important that each administrator or system architect look at each customer or end-user differently, in their own unique light. Since each end-user is different, and the needs of the customer often stem from the warehouse's ability to accurately store quality information, a system that dates back to the 1970's

Typically, accurate documentation assists in limiting errors. (Stanford Hospital & Clinics, 2012). Car et al. (2008) point out that integrating of electronic health within a healthcare organization enhances quality and safety of patients. The author argues that electronic health record assists the healthcare provider to readily access comprehensive information in order to minimize the incident of error as well as enhancing patient safety and quality of healthcare delivery.
