¶ … Scholarship Herewith, I present my application for a scholarship with your university in the field of Human Services. As a nontraditional student, being awarded the chance to improve my knowledge in this field will be a wonderful opportunity for me as I seek to expand my knowledge and improve my professional opportunities. My key areas of interest include the prevention of abuse of the elderly, curbing of juvenile addiction, and dealing with the predicament of violence against women -- these are the areas that will enable me to positively impact the lives of different people who may be struggling with various issues in life.

I cannot emphasize just how valuable getting an education will be to me. After serving in the military for 31 years, I have developed a thirst for knowledge that will enable me to make a difference in the country I served. Furthermore, I have consistently demonstrated willingness to give my very best at everything I do for both myself and those who have provided me with a chance at excellence. This is evident in my good achievements in my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, which I pursued amid numerous obligations from my position in the military. I maintained a 3.33 GPA and was termed of good standing, which brings out my hardworking and well-rounded...

I also plan to enroll in more volunteer programs that are available in my state. This will facilitate my long-term plan to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work - I want to give back to my community and provide them with the assistance that is necessary to impact their lives in a positive way. Some of the volunteer programs I have been involved in include the Fisher House Foundation and the National Military Family Foundation, both of which are provided by the National Association of Social Workers. Currently I volunteer daily at a retirement home in my area. I intend to seize the opportunity of a scholarship wholeheartedly mainly because it will help me get an education without constant worries of paying the fees. The scholarship will also make it easier for me to give my studies the full attention they deserve and focus on achieving the very best.
I believe the experience I gained from the military, which gave me a desire to always be inquisitive, is what makes me unique.
