Music: How a Symphony Orchestra Is Similar To a Baseball Team

A symphony orchestra is similar to a baseball team since it connects emotions with the baseball game and the orchestra (Parma Recordings, 2018). Watching a baseball match live and experiencing the orchestra's lives display an extravaganza of emotions from the audience as they are emotionally connected with the teams and the classical music. Another connection is based on narratives. The rivalry between baseball teams is observed in the same way as their respective fans have their integrity towards their favorite teams. The same could be seen for orchestra fans, where fans of Mozart and Beethoven have their interpretations of their favorite music composers. 

Like classical music, the baseball game is also transforming into a genre that a specific segment of the population is dedicated to. Just in music, certain types of music add diversity of musicians, their singing styles, and cultural influences. The same stands true for classical music, which has a sense of universality and accessibility. Moreover, unexpected events exist in both orchestra and baseball games. From the opening till the last note of a symphony orchestra, there are ups, and down that the audience would listen to and enjoy. The same could be witnessed in a baseball game that becomes exciting with every ball, hit, and a home run.  

Both have leaders; a baseball team captain in the game while a conductor in the symphony orchestra directs the musicians to play their instruments. Both leaders feel the same pressure and tension, either in the game or in a music concert. They feel they have a responsibility towards their team to control and guide them towards the right path for giving an exceptional display of brilliance in the end. 

Connected to the leadership quality, there is teamwork in both. The sports team plays to achieve a single goal of winning while the musicians play as a team in harmony to exhibit their musical excellence. There is equipment to play within both scenarios. Orchestra people have instruments to play while baseball players have balls and bats to play their game.
