Her dedication to the subject was inestimable, perhaps because she does not perceive learning French as a job but a privilege -- an integral part of life that exists everywhere within food, word roots, history, and contemporary personalities. Her secret is to transmute classroom learning to a lifelong pursuit that spans a variety of disciplines, and which motivates her students to do the same.
