Sustainability Statement The intent of the Children's Defense Fund is to engage donors for donations critical to maintaining operations and to create a fiscal environment capable of sustainability after the initial funding phase. The importance of the initial funding phase is to establish a baseline of services and to measure program success against goals to further relay to potential donors the effectiveness of this particular program on the target demographic.

Our first strategy is to engage philanthropic organizations that a mission similar to the goals structure of the Children's Defenses Fund. We feel this strategy is specific to meeting the needs of our organization with the benefit of low use of resources used to obtain philanthropic donations. The lower the operating costs for the program the more effective the use of donor dollars to satisfying the mission of the organization.

Potential donors will also see the efficiency of our organization and effectively translate this to our cyclical operations including food purchase orders, poverty reduction efforts, nutritional development, and the procurement of educational materials. The at-risk nature of our children describes the potential life of crime, homelessness, and poverty that can afflict these children in their adulthood. We feel efforts to convey this tragedy to our philanthropic donors and potential partners will bolster the message of need.

Furthermore, our idea to send marketing materials that display photographs of our success and ongoing efforts to meet and exceed our organizational mission, vision, and goals will enable a stream of donations that will sustain our efforts for the duration. Specific target of our donor strategy is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The foundation provides funding to non-profit organizations via grant funding from RFP submissions. Funding opportunities exist for such activities as Early Learning, Family Homelessness, High Schools, Libraries, Postsecondary Education, and Scholarships.

The success of this program is a function of receiving additional year over year funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. We feel our strategy going forward is consistent in its efforts to realize this strategy and meet or exceed our required funding requirement. Additional funding opportunities exist with the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Prudential Foundation. The Prudential Foundation enables funding to meet our educational goals for children and therefore are in-line with our organizational mission and vision. Further.
