They give their best, trying not to do anything wrong in the eyes of the people of the church, not God, so that they may say to themselves that they are living their lives well. And in the case that they fail, meaning that they "sinned," they take comfort from the thought of having other people from the church who they know also sinned. They totally missed the point of doing the things they do… which is to live their lives as worship to God. They easily see other people's fault, but never theirs. It is not wrong to correct other people in the church as long as you also "do what you preach" (Fredrick Crawford, 2004: 1). But these people advise other people what must be done, appearing to be concerned for the other's welfare but deep inside their minds, they are only concerned for their own glory.
The last example of things the religious hypocrites do is that they do not live their lives whole-heartedly the way their religion is teaching them to. The church teaches people to live lives worthy of being called the lives of God's people. It tells them to help, encourage, and love one another. The hypocrites may also be found doing these, but the question is whether they are doing them whole-heartedly. The religious hypocrites do everything that a real member of their religion does, except that they are doing them with the wrong mindsets -- they do it for themselves. The classic example of a...
This clearly shows that they don't accept their religion's teaching -- they don't have love for their God and their God's people.
Now, it is clear that the religious hypocrites are the worst. They do not only trick mere people around them -- they trick God as if they can. And they do this because of nothing and no one but themselves. But although it is true that these hypocrites are not the best people a person can meet, let us not judge and hate them because that will make us exactly like them, won't it? After all, the only person who could not be considered a hypocrite would be God himself (Christian Hypocrites. 2009).
Crime and Punishment Ours is an extremely violent kind of world where even the most common type of folk can find themselves faced with types of unspeakable horrors and criminal activity through little or no intention of their own. In American literature, a common theme is the concept of the freedom of choice and how a person's choices come to affect not only themselves, but all of the people around them.
Second Post: This post brings up the important part of teaching by example. There is no better way to communicate the awesomeness of Christianity than by good Christian living. The example of Christ should be visible in every Christian's action -- or else he is not worthy of being called a Christian. This thought should lead us to realize that we are hypocrites if we attempt to convert others and yet
Walden Two: Human Nature and Society The bourgeoisie naturally conceives the world in which it is supreme to be the best. Karl Marx People throughout history, since the beginning of time began, have been expressing dissatisfaction with the way the world is and trying to find ways to make it better. Along the way various fictional societies called "Utopias," after the book of the same name written by Thomas More in 1515 and
Ross (1988) notes the development of Romanticism in the late eighteenth century and indicates that it was essentially a masculine phenomenon: Romantic poetizing is not just what women cannot do because they are not expected to; it is also what some men do in order to reconfirm their capacity to influence the world in ways socio-historically determined as masculine. The categories of gender, both in their lives and in their
Tom Sawyer, the 'good' rapscallion who only plays at the dark life of a wild boy torments Jim before revealing the fact that Jim is free. Tom does not understand the true meaning of freedom, and so he engages in a kind of sick adolescent joke when Jim is being held captive by Tom's relatives the Phelps. Over and over again the novel mocks hypocrisy and ignorance: for example, the
