Terrorism takes up a good deal of our foreign policy apparatus today, not only in dealing directly with terrorist threats but with the need to develop and implement measure for counter-terrorism.

John Stossel, commentator for ABC news shows, is well-known for his TV segments titled "Give Me a Break!" In these short segments, he talks about instances he perceives as government waste.

Transportation Security Administration is one of the most important functions of national security plans as it acts as frontline which any threat to national security might face. After 9/11, this security tool has been criticized greatly for its ineffectiveness. Authorities have been devising strategies of enhancing its productivity and have been equipping it with various tools of detecting and preventing acts of terrorism. One of the recent strategies adopted by TSA is full body scanning of passengers travelling through airlines, by security officials. This particular measure has been criticized heavily by public as well as mass media as it is accused of hampering personal liberty in the name of security checks. Considering the opinions of general public and the outcomes of this practice, it is an established fact that the effectiveness of this security strategy is outweighed by the harm that it has done.

In the early 20th century two young men by the names of Orville and Wilbur Wright made what some argue as the greatest transportation invention ever discovered outside of the automobile. This 50 pound glider with a wingspan of approximately 17 feet would revolutionize the manner in which humans across the world would travel. In fact, this 12 second flight was so instrumental, that the Wright brothers will be forever remembered for their contributions to both aviation and society (Wright Brothers - First Flight of an Airplane, 2011). Now, fast forward 100 years into the future and a very different era has risen in the aviation industry.
