Servant-Leadership is the model that most closely resonates with me, though I think the title a bit pretentious, even though I cannot think of a better one. Characteristics of Leaders

There are several characteristics that successful leaders are considered to have. Most theories on leadership state that such traits refer to integrity, self-esteem, confidence, empathy, organizational skills, good judgment, initiative, courage, endurance, they are proactive, they have visionary skills, communication skills, and others. There are numerous combinations of skills that characterize the great leaders of the world.

However, there are individuals that posses such skills, but that do not become leaders. Certain theories consider that leadership is an innate skill that cannot be developed. In the case of individuals that have such skills but do not become leaders, this situation can be attributed to the fact that they lack the desire to lead. Though there has been a strong correlation shown between the possession of certain key traits and effective leadership, no trait (or combination of traits) guarantees good leadership. More importantly, effective leadership does not really depend upon specific character traits so much as specific choices. The personality traits that can lead to good leadership tend to be those that allow for decisive and informed decisions based on the needs of the group or organization being led; charisma is certainly not among these, and the traits themselves are secondary to the decisions they lead to, regardless (Kirkpatrick & Locke 1991). Charisma no more makes a leader than attractiveness or another physical attribute.

Tarsila Do Amaral

One of the most important razilian artists of the 20th century, Tarsila do Amaral, was born in Sao Paulo in 1886. She had a privileged childhood as the grandchild of a rich farmer. This brought with it various advantages, including an education that taught her to read, write, embroider and speak French (Damian, 1999). Finishing her studies in France and returning to razil, this artist left an impression on the Modernist movement in the country that remains to this day. With her husband Oswald de Andrade, Tarsila worked towards creating a unique artistic perspective for the razilian people. This perspective would not reject the European forms and images that had ruled the country's art world until the 1920s. Instead, these would be used and incorporated into traditional forms to create an entirely new and more inclusive perspective.
