A brief search of Internet-listed one-bedroom apartments in Abu Dhabi confirms a current yearly rental price of AED 75,000 for most properties in the city (Justentals.com, 2012). Many apartments located in different buildings and in different [arts of the city are listed for exactly this amount, though some were also found for lower (AED 60,000) and several were found that were higher (approx. AED 85,000), however as an average current price AED 75,000 seems quite accurate (Justentals.com, 2012). Likewise, an estimation of AED 120,000 as the current annual average rent for a two bedroom is also fairly accurate; there is a greater variance observed in prices for two bedrooms that is likely reflective of differences in actual size and also appears to be neighborhood- and building-driven to a greater degree than is the pricing of one-bedroom apartments, however AED 120,000 does seem to be a fair…

Project managers, by virtue of their position, have the ability to directly impact the projects they oversee. As such, the overall quality of the construction work, in part, is correlated to the manager's ability to direct others. By facilitating a mutual exchange of both information and responsibilities, project managers provide reassurance that work is completed in an effective manner. To best prepare for their roles and responsibilities project should undertake three primary tasks. First, project managers should consult with client to properly evaluate the overall contract terms, and requirements. Second, the project manager is to provide each member of their respective teams, key metrics of performance evaluation to meet contract requirements. Finally, project managers should create communication networks with the applicable clients to ensure that contract requirements are being met. By utilizing these three methods of preparation, project managers can ensure that their client's requirements are being met in an…

Concrete, Iron, ceramics, pipes are important in the structure of buildings and in Iran a lot of times these materials are substandard and would not withstand an earthquake or other significant trauma.
Iran must explore new and better ways of constructing buildings so that safety becomes the most important factor. By looking at and examining the obstacles that the Iranian construction industry faces and gaining a better understanding of these is key to ensuring that in the future there is a chance that construction in Iran is safer, cheaper and overall better for everyone. Positive solutions can come from this research and study and new, safer methods and practices can be implemented to ensure that construction in Iran is successful.
Conclusion
In conclusion it is apparent that Iran must explore new and better ways to fund construction projects and programs as well as find ways to ensure that the buildings that are…

For the plant construction project, we need to have a way to determine if this project is something we should do or not. There are a number of different ways the firms evaluate such projects, but the most common are the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and the modified internal rate of return (MIRR). Each of these is based on the concept of discounted cash flow. The incremental cash flows of the project are evaluated to determine whether or not there is a positive cash flow, on a time-adjusted (discounted) basis (Investopedia, 2012). In theory, if the project makes a positive contribution to the company, it should be accepted. In practice, companies face decisions between mutually exclusive options. Given our tight financing, that might be the case here. So the different projects that people want to have financed will need to be evaluated against each…

Project Management
How well the client's value was understood.
Normally the client's values are not understood well or possibly at all. This often results in many delays or modifications because if the values are not understood then the quality is unlikely to meet the end-users expectations. There are many ways to try to mitigate these risks in a project during the planning phase. However, there are often a wide variety of different stakeholders that may have different expectations for the project. Therefore, it is important to incorporate as many viewpoints as possible to get something of a comprehensive account of the stakeholder's values. Furthermore, in many cases stakeholders do not realize what their own values and expectations for a project actually are. Thus it is important for a project manager to try to tease out as much critical information from the stakeholders as possible so that they know how to plan for…
The project manager should at all times be present to monitor and ensure that it's the correct mixing of materials being done, it's the right quality of material being used, and it's the right amount of time being given to the treatment process in the different construction phases. In the event that this is not observed, and the building is erected, there's a high probability that the building will deteriorate at an early stage before its lifespan or even collapse as witnessed almost daily Zwikael and Ahn, 2011()
As a construction is ongoing, a major contribution to its success is the relationship between the different stakeholders. This includes the architect, the engineer, the owner, the contactor and the workers. In order to smoothly run the project and limit malice and incorporation, there should be a union and set goals and objectives between all these parties so as to ensure everyone…

Project Schedule
To develop a schedule for a project, we will use the concept of a project network, which shows work activities taken from the work breakdown structure and organized according to the logical flow in time and relationships governing when the work will be performed.
Combining this network of work activities with estimates of the time duration for performing each of the activities, create a schedule for the project work.
When planning a project, one of the key steps is to develop a work breakdown structure for the project. This lets the project team know all the steps necessary to complete the project. Each activity can be broken down into a time estimate and then these can be compiled in an overall project schedule. Some of the activities can be completed at the same time while others will have to be finished before the next activity can begin. For example, in…

Most of the current generation of project managers expects the project management tools to furnish them with almost real-time knowledge in order to facilitate their decision-making. Some of these tools like DOFF, "Field of the Future," "Smart Fields," Microsoft's "Oilfield Connectivity" and i-Fields are currently being examined by exploration and production oil companies. Some of these tools have the capability of generating information from apparently incongruent data and helping managers take important decisions based on them. (Oilfield Connectivity - Capturing the Value of the Digital Era)
There is substantial amount of risk in oil exploration and production since the concerned target is located many thousands of feet under the ground. There are a number of factors that can cause uncertainties and risks in these fields which may include the weather, people, geology, safety, and availability of tools and equipment. Agility is an important requirement in the oil fields,…

The project manager must effectively utilize all of the communication methods available to them. They must choose the most appropriate method of communication for the workers and for the managers. The more workers and managers hear the messages, in as many sensory modes possible, the more likely the message will be to make an impact on a reduction in accidents on the job.
Language proved to be a problem in Australia's construction industry. Many of the safety programs are conducted in English, although a significant portion of workers in the industry are non-English speakers. Communication proved to be a significant problem in the successful implementation of safety programs. The key factors were the inability to understand government safety regulations and the inability to communicate these standards to the workers (Trajkoevski & Loosemore, 2005). Project managers must be aware of language barriers that may hinder the ability to communicate safety messages to…

Project Management and the Transformation System
In this research paper, the author discussed he concept of project management employing in a construction firm. The author described briefly, the mission of construction organization, i.e. its product and services, intended markets, and how the product or service is distinct from those offered by competitors. The author also analyzed the scope of integration of project management concepts such as; Project Planning, Portfolio, Life Cycle, Team Management, Scheduling and Controlling the Project. Firms can benefit by integrating project management concepts to overcome the issues like team management, planning and managing. A project is considered winning if it completes on time, goes on to follows a pre-set schedule, remain within the provided budget, and finally its customers are pleased. For successful completion and for the satisfaction of costumers, it should have a specific time frame and must achieve the prior set targets by deploying resources both…

Project Leader
Personal Learning Contract
Learning within organizations is vital to success. It is the lifeblood that grows and sustains human capital (Bassi & McMurrer, 2004; Noe, 2008; Senge, 1990) through human resource development (HD) and the management of technology which, according to Thamhain (2001), is the key to competitiveness and wealth creation.
In this essay the researcher attempts to explore the challenges he will be facing as a leader and the competencies he will need to handle these challenges. The essay is divided into two parts. Part-I reflects the challenges, difficulties, scope and required competencies to be leader in the organization and how the writer will develop himself to fulfill the requirements of the role. While in Part-II the author has stated how to keep balance among personal and professional life.

The study of physics, optics and biology of the eye contributed to the development of the quadrant and sextant. The Islamic world also created the concept of a library.
The Crusades of the eleventh century brought the learning of the Islamic world to Europe unfortunately this information was acquired by the act of war. The Crusades also increased the flow of trade, bringing new spices, gemstones and foods to Europe. The Crusades marked the beginning of religion as the basis for society. The Pope and the Catholic Church emerged as the leaders of society and religion as the unifying morality.
Rather than a change in politics, a mini-renaissance occurred during Romanesque period. The study of art, science and culture brought about a change in architectural styling and building materials; increased use of rounded arches and barrel vaults emerged at the same time as the use of metal, enamel, ivory, bronze, gold,…
Health and Safety in Construction Industry
The construction industry is by far the most dangerous one as it takes more lives every year and results in many short- and long-term minor or severe injuries. The UK government regulatory bodies have been playing a significant role in ensuring that proper health and safety procedures are followed. Throughout the last four decades, its role has been impeccable in decreasing fatalities in the construction industry, although the excessive rules and regulations, frequent changes, bureaucratic structure and lack of project management and risk management techniques have dented its efficiency in protecting small construction companies and contractors, resulting in a compensation and claim culture engulfed with individual profiteers such as insurance companies, lawyers and health and safety consultants. These excessive regulations have pushed constructors to adopt some illegal practices in order to decrease cost and probability of claims from injured workers. The risk management and assessment…

Role of Project Manager in Different Projects
The project manager plays an instrumental role in ensuring project success. It could actually be argued that the project manager is the most important person in any project management environment (Meredith and Mantel, 2011). Essentially, the project manager carries the overall responsibility for ensuring the project is successfully planned, designed, executed, monitored, controlled, and closed (Thomsett, 2010; Young, 2013). Whereas the role of the project manager tends to be similar in virtually all projects, there could be some differences from one type of project to another (Winch, 2010; Project Management Institute [PMI], 2013). This essay critically evaluates the role of the project manager in three contrasting types of projects.
As per the conventional project management methodology, the role of the project manager stretches across four major functions: planning (laying out a plan for achieving the overall objective of the project); execution (implementing the laid out…
Balanced Scorecard Flexibility
One of the characteristics of the balanced scorecard model is that it is largely flexible and easy to customize to fit a wide range of different applications in a variety of different industries. The Tesco 'Steering Wheel', for example, includes the four main components but then adds a fifth perspectives -- capturing their commitment to the community in addition to their tradition balanced scorecard metrics along the lines of financial, customer, operations and people aspects in their operations. The model has also been adapted to meet some of the unique challenges that lie with the non-profit industry as well as the service industry. Another unique application has been within the field of project management. Project management requires a significant amount of customization since projects are unique by nature and only occur once. Despite the challenges of adapting the balanced scorecard model to fit the project format, many project…

Construction design for safety in the construction industry encourages designers, contractors, project managers, site managers and engineers to design a safe construction site that, hopefully, reduces the risk and number of injuries and fatalities during the construction phase of a project. This study would focus on the different approaches used by the construction industry to ensure on-the-job safety and if there is one approach that is more efficient and effective than another.
The Construction industry represents one of the most dangerous workplace industries; with a high number of yearly deaths and injuries when compared to other industries. The construction industry has a very poor record on health and safety in Britain, and construction sites are known as very dangerous places to work. Every year roughly 70 -- 80 individuals die on construction sites and thousands of construction workers are injured.
The highest number of fatalities results from falls from scaffolds or roofs.…

Prioritizing Projects at D.D. Williamson
Prioritizing Projects at D.D. Williamson
As seen from the second chapter, Williamson could have reaped more benefits from project management team through proper training. Miscommunication and disorganization appeared to be the significant issues bedeviling the project (Kloppenborg & Nkomo, 2012). Planning and research formed critical tools for success of the project coupled with the incorporation of strong management skills. Firms work on numerous projects yearly to achieve better outcomes of the organization. It is difficult to induce proper tracking of all projects. The prioritization process offers an improvement as opposed to previous prioritization processed implemented (Curlee & Gordon, 2010). I hold that D.D. Williamson was in a position of overcoming challenges after a long duration of ineffective processes in place.
The reduction of projects to 16 from the initial 60 was an appropriate plan that helped D.D. Williamson in managing the budget effectively. Other…

Project Management
In The Custom Woodworking Company, hereafter known as "Woody's," there were numerous project management problems that appeared from the very beginning, and they only got worse as the product was carried out. The Woody 2000 project was not well conceived, and that was the first problem encountered. When a project is going to begin, it needs to be thoroughly planned out first (Wideman, 2001b). There was little planning that took place with this project, as it was suggested and seemed to snowball from that point. Before Woody knew what was happening, a budget was proposed and there was a meeting with the engineers who were going to add to the building (The Custom Woodworking Company, 2012). Even then, the project started off badly. Originally, the desired plan was to move the company's location to a huge facility where rapid expansion could take place. However, Woody and his wife did…

There are several benefits that a global consumer electronic firm could derive from inter-project learning.
First, inter-project learning allows firm to enhance project completeness. Prencipe, & Tell (2001) argue that inter-project learning allows firms to execute a project in a best method. In the present competitive market environment, project is the key to the dynamic competitive capabilities. Typically, accumulation of knowledge builds project competencies, which could enhances market performances of a global consumer electronic firm. Experience has revealed that project-based firm has been able to record high profit in the market environment. ( Brady, and Davies, 2004).Through inter-project learning, a global consumer electronic firm will be able to better estimate the project costs and this will enhance ability to deliver the project with success. Moreover, the inter-project learning will enable the company to estimate the project risks efficiently. By better evaluating the project risks, the project manager will be able to…

Project Life Cycle:
The most initial phase in the conception of the home began with the financing of the projected costs associated with the entire development of the home. As described, the bank, to which the customer obtained their financing, was also in charge of assigning the developer who stood in as the highest project managing agent. According to the limitations of financing amounts provided by the bank to the customer, the specifics for the completion of the home were dictated. As available through this budget, each category of management was directed according to the financial specifics that were handed down from the bank to each descending sector of construction. Upon the agreement of these initial phases and the definitive associations given to each crew's categorical confines, the execution of the building process was then set to begin. Distributing the responsibilities and the necessary materials among these categories, the primary operatives…

Project Management
Review the "Lessons Learned" section of the project risk diagram. Describe how the Lessons Learned activity helps you become a stronger project manager, who else it helps in the project team and also describe how it helps PMO. 200 words
Documenting the lessons learned is one of the most important aspects of the closure phase of the project. It is important to an individual project manager because they can reflect on their performance and find areas for improvement. A project manager, with the assistance of their team and supervisors, can find areas in their management capacity in which they can work on for future improvements. They can also make note of things that went right so that they can recreate those items in the future. For instance, if a change management procedure or a communication medium worked well then the project manager will know to use these in the future.

Project Management
As developed in the 1950's by the U.S. Navy as a method to manage complex projects; the Program Evaluation and eview Technique (PET) "is a network diagram that visually displays the activities and milestones which are required for project completion" (NETMBA.com. N.D. PP. 1). The assembling of a PET chart requires the compilation of all tasks related to implementing and completing a project, developing activity times and their proper order, and identifying the critical path; the absolute necessity for effective project management.
In terms of creating a timeline, what is meant by the critical path of a PET chart?
The critical path is "the sequence of schedule activities that determines the duration of the project" (Makar, A. September 10, 2009. PP. 1). Whether a project is outlined in days, weeks, or even years the critical path "identifies the total calendar time required for a project" (NETMBA.com. N.D. PP. 1). Arriving at…

Project Management
Project Information, History, Intent, and Life Cycle
Gray and Larson, (2008) define project as "a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result." (p 5). Essential feature of a project is that it has a defined beginning and end often subject to time or fund constraint to achieve stakeholder's goals and objectives. Gray and Larson (2008) differentiate between project and program. "A program is a group of related projects designed to accomplish a common goal over an extended period of time." (Gray and Larson, 2008 p 6). Major goal of any project is to satisfy customers' objectives, and features of a project are they:
have established objectives.
Have a life span definitely a start and the end.
Usually involve several professionals and departments.
Have specific costs, time and performance requirements.
However, a project is different from program where workers are performing repetitive operations daily within an organization. Contrarily, a project has a…

The culture is fantastic, and very distinctive. The county has a blend of Portuguese and African influences. Cape Verdean music is well-known in world music circles and we feel there is tremendous opportunity to capitalize on the richness of Cape Verdean culture. There is a large Cape Verdean diaspora that lends additional nuance to the culture.
The infrastructure is still relatively poor, but has been improving in recent years. There is not much paved road, although the roads to our location from the capital and its airport will be paved. The airport at Praia is brand new, having just been opened five years ago, overcoming a major infrastructure hurdle. The main problem we have now is that most of the flights are domestic -- the only international ones are from Lisbon, Boston and some African cities. e need to see more European flights to that airport if we are to…

Threats will include drunken or otherwise inebriated fans, accidental fires (especially from electricity or smoking). Also, acts of God such as weather disasters must be factored in.

Performance assessment is another important issue that arises in the book. Kerzner asserts that the performance of workers should be assessed for several reasons. One of the primary reasons for assessment is to determine both the mistakes and the successes experienced by a team when working on a project. These experiences can be used to assist management teams in the future. Additionally assessment can be used to offer team members incentives. These incentives will provide the team members with the motivation needed to excel in the future. It is important that organization also establish for workers a system in which what is expected of them is evident. Some projects fail simply because people do not understand what is expected of…

For a coffee cart the start-up cost is $20,000-$25,000
For a coffee kiosk, the macro costs are usually between $50,000-$60,000
For a coffee drive-thru, the costs for opening such a location may be very different in accordance with the unit's size, reaching $30,000-$180,000
For a sit down coffee shop, the estimated macro costs reach…

In each individuals identified responsibilities, there is an aspect in which accountability is designated. In each instance, it will be this team member's role to keep others on task and moving according to the consult of scheduling.
3. At the start of the project, responsibilities and leadership roles have been distributed ensuring that every member is aware both of the steps necessary to complete the project and of the individual expectations pertaining to them within the scope of the project. In distribution, we would determine that the skills are present to suggest this plan is executable.
Likewise, based on the enthusiasm shown by all team members for entering into the context of the inner-city for project execution, it is fair to argue that the courage for proper implementation is present amongst us. The confidence also present is strengthened by the projection of schedule, which gives us roughly ten months across which…

Architectural Analysis of Famous Building
With the completion of construction on the Civic Center in 1996, the San Francisco Main Public Library's ambitious design project transformed its previously staid building into an architectural representation of the city itself. By fusing a modern sense of sustainable building with his own take on the traditional Beaux-Arts style, lead designer James Ingo Freed, of the renowned firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, along with associate designer Cathy Simon of the firm Simon Martin-Vegue Winkelstein Moris, managed to erect a fitting contribution to one of America's most historic yet progressive metropolitan centers. The New Main Library was designed on a fittingly massive scale, with its 375,000 square feet providing twice the amount of usable space as the previous library building. The building's expansive scale was also intended to assure proportionality with the library's monumental neighbors throughout the Civic Center.

The use of Gantt charts for enabling interprocess integration and knowledge management in the A&D industry is a best practice for also managing process-intensive projects (Singh, Keil, Kasi, 2009). These include the development of new computer systems and advanced technologies where the project needs to capture the knowledge to fulfill its objectives. Project management's core set of tools therefore needs to be focused on how to augment and strengthen project performance while also capturing process and product knowledge critical to its success (Besner, Hobbs, 2006). The combining of Gantt charts, progress reports, change requests and the use of kick-off meetings to set objectives is critical in this regard.

Project Management Accreditation
Project Management
A project is a temporary group endeavor, with an agreed beginning and duration time frame, organized to produce a unique product, service or result. (PMI 2011) A distinguishing characteristic of a project is that it is progressively detailed as the project is better understood by the people working on it. Another characteristic of a project is that it is not a routine operation, although a project may be assembled for the purpose of establishing the procedures that ultimately become routines. Owing to the temporary nature of projects, managers, team members and specialists are assembled for a stated period of time; they often have never worked together before as most of the team members are drawn from regular operating units. Examples of projects are software development, the construction of a building or bridge, a disaster relief effort, or a drive to expand a sales territory in a new…

.....project management approach is increasingly becoming popular in today's workplace. Organisations are ever more recognising the benefits of accomplishing tasks and activities as projects -- better task coordination, quicker task execution, and so on (Larson et al., 2013). The author's organisation, a renewable energy firm with operations in Australia and beyond, has particularly been shifting to the project management approach in recent years. The organisation is currently interested in acquiring or merging with a suitable rival to improve its market share and competitive advantage. The merger or acquisition process is often not an easy undertaking. It requires proper planning and execution. With the application of project management concepts, however, the process can be easier. This report analyses the relevance of various project management concepts to the merger or acquisition process. Attention is particularly paid to the project environment, project definition, time and cost estimation, project plan, risk management, resource scheduling,…
In addition to this, the event chain methodology is used in counteracting the effects of different biases. This model also requires the use of Gantt charts.
The thermostat model is a model of management control that is based on performance standards, performance measured at the output, and the difference between standards and measured values is used for correcting the process in order to reach the established standards (Koskela & Howell, 2002). The management as planning theory is represented by the operational level management referring to creation, revision, and implementation of plans. This theory focuses on the relationship between the project's actions and the objectives of the company. The dispatching model refers to the fact that the activities and tasks planned in project management can be performed based on the project manager's approval.
The PINCE 2 theory is a project management approach based on different methodologies developed by IBM. The objective of…

Assessing Risks as Part of Project Management
The paradox of risk is that it can often be planned for yet rarely occurs in the manner that project managers expect when initiating a new program or project. The paradox of risk is that its severity and costs from a time and resource standpoint, in addition to constraint-based nature, rarely can be entirely planned for or anticipated, especially in the context of large-scale, fast-moving projects (esner, Hobbs, 2012). The intent of this analysis is to explain how risks emerged during the launch of two new products and explain how they initially emerged and eventually helped the project to meet and exceed customer requirements.
Analysis of Risk in High Technology
The overall costs of risk to a project can be catastrophic if not budgeted for initially in the project plan and project costs (esner, Hobbs, 2012). eing part of the new product development and launch…

Project Management Concepts
Question 1; the Triple Constraint
The term triple constraint refers to three interdependent factors which will act as constraints on the way projects are completed. The triple constraints, which may also be called the 'project triangle', will be found in all projects, they are the factors of time, cost, and scope. Successful projects are usually defined as those which are delivered at the right time, within the correct budget, and to the specified scope. These different influences converge, to understand their interrelationship each factor may be considered individually, followed by a discussion on the way in which the influence each other.
The time constraint refers to the timescale in which the project should be delivered, meeting the required completion schedule. For a project to be delivered on time it is essential there is effective time management exercised within the projects, ensuring that each stage of the project is completed on…

Decision
As the general contractor of a medium size, one of the most important decision points in construction is a go no-go decision. Go no-go decisions have become common in the modern construction industry because of the changing marketplace that has in turn generated complex procurement choices. In light of the changing marketplace in the construction industry, construction companies face new challenges in identifying the most suitable project proposals to adopt and develop vetting measures that help in making the appropriate go no-go decision (Illia & ubin, 2014). Despite the complexities of such decisions, go no-go decisions remain very crucial choices in this sector because of their significance in weighing costs for the most appropriate project fit.
Contractors need to conduct a go no-go analysis in order to determine the best project fit depending on project specifications and needs. The analysis helps in several aspects including serving as a process of…

THE ROLE OF P IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AKU-TILISI-ERZURUM
GAS PIPE-LINE
The aku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline is a massive project that involves three countries -- Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. It is a project that is based on the natural gas deposits, of more than one trillion cubic meters, in Azerbaijan's portion of the Caspian Sea, an area known as the Shah-Denz gas field- 12km in width and 30km length of a stripe of the Caspian Sea. The stripe has a depth of 50m on the northern side and 500m on the southern side. The deposit is the biggest gas deposit situated in Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. This pipeline was constructed being parallel to the aku-Tsibili-Cyehan oil pipeline that runs from Azerbaijan to the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The TE pipeline is also known as either South Caucasus (gas) Pipeline or Shah Deniz pipeline. The construction project…

This project involves the renovation of a new office headquarters for Acme Project Consultants. The company has grown fast due to their expertise in project management consulting. The company has various divisions which handle various types of projects, such as IT projects and construction projects, and a growing staff of professionals who can manage a wide array of various requirements. The company has decided to purchase an older building in a great location and renovate the existing building to suit their growing needs. It was found that this renovation project should be scheduled for 347 working days. The project will begin on the last day of March, 2012 and its expected completion date is 7/30/2013. Thus the project is expected to take roughly sixteen months from beginning to end. Recommendations for the company include developing…

Construction Project
Harry and Eric Smith performed a through market study before going through with the investment and most information seemed to confirm that the investment would be profitable. Even with this, the two also chose to use speculation as a primary means to fuel the business deal, taking into account that they focused on potential competition on the market and considered that new developments and new vacancies in the area did not pose a threat. The two believed that the condition of these respective buildings would make it imperative for their owners to charge prices that were in accordance with this respective state.
The Smiths acknowledged the numerous risks associated with the project, but decided that the magnitude of the business deal outweighed them and that it would have been in their best interest to try and make this one of the most important developments in their lives. Harry and…
Project Management
Key Success Factors (KSFs) of most organizations have similar attributes, references, and disciplines. This is because each project has internal and external expectations. In most cases, internal expectations happen to be project developers while the external expectation happens to be clients and/or the audience community. The positive striking balance is categorical in elaborating the nature and quality expected in developing each project. This comparison will be substantial in assessing KSFs of two seemingly different organizations. The analysis will identify the reasons why the organizations have pursued the KSFs in the execution of their projects. This study analyzes the KSFs of the two organizations. The study will also appoint basic commonalities between these two organizations in relation to the nature of projects that the two organizations are pursuing.

In contrast, English baroque has been described as being more secular, with a higher degree of classical inspiration. However, as Daniells states, this form of the Baroque style is not easy to categorize with finality (Daniells). Wellek uses the term 'restraint' to characterize English baroque (Wellek). With regard to the period of the Scientific Revolution, English Baroque drew inspiration from renaissance geometry. As in the Italian or Roman Baroque, there is a strong religious element that permeates all the designs.
The form of Baroque is exemplified by work of Sir Christopher Wren and buildings like St. Paul's Cathedral. The following summary by Soo is reiterated as it encapsulates the link between English baroque and the religious and scientific values of the period. "...as the result of a compromise between native medieval tradition and continental classicism, reconciled by creating a disunity between appearances and reality, the final design of St. Paul's is…
Controlling Construction Cost:
It is seldom that the initial bid estimate to carry out a specific construction activity is the same as the actual cost of doing the work. Generally, the estimate cost tends to be higher or lower due to the various unforeseeable factors that contribute to the differences. Therefore, it is increasingly essential for the project manager and contractor to keep current on the costs of a project through maintaining an accurate and reliable cost control system, especially if a contractor is to make a profit. However, the project manager has an overriding role of providing the project management team with necessary strong and proactive leadership during the construction period. This overriding role and task includes ensuring that the most effective approach to control construction has been adopted and tracking construction activities and costs.
Since the construction phase of a project is usually affected by various external factors that hinder…

Quite similarly, a labor and material payment bond can also work to protect an owner from liens against his or her property if the contractor fails to pay workers, sub-contractors and/or suppliers" ("Bonds Insurance," Contractor's Insurance, 2009).
Contractor warrantees guarantee the work's quality for a particular duration of time, much like a warranty for a particular piece of electronic equipment purchased at a store. However, while the parts themselves may be under separate manufacture's warrantee, contractors' warrantees are specifically for the work involved, and provide an extended kind of protection to ensure the quality of the workmanship as well as the component parts. These are meant to provide an added level of protection for the individual contracting the work.

Decreasing Quality in Construction
In the modern estern world, quality construction is generally taken for granted. Although it was once expected that each member of a town or village participate in construction. few people today are involved in the building of their own homes. Only a small percentage of the population is involved in the construction of the roads on which the majority of the population drives. It is a vast minority of people that have played any part in the creation of the structures in which they live, work, or shop. To the average person, there is little connection made mentally between the solid floors supporting his or her weight many stories above the ground, or the protective roof keeping out the elements overhead, and the actual labor which was put into these things. If the construction process is flawless, then no one will have to think about it…

CPM
The critical path method (CPM): As applied to construction projects
The critical path method (CPM) was originally developed by the DuPont Company in the 1950s as a method of project management when DuPont shutting down its chemical plants for maintenance work. The shutdown process was complex and detailed, and had to be deployed in a highly regimented fashion in terms of the completion of steps and coordination of the workforce (CPM, 2011, Net MBA). Yet the process also demanded a certain amount of flexibility in terms of managing unexpected delays, as well as the need to reduce costs. Ever since its inception, other companies have been using the CPM method to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Now it is most often used in the construction, architectural, and engineering industries to manage a project with multiple components.
The method is graphical in nature and thus is ideal to deploy for a multi-stage project.…

Summary and Conclusion
There is no way to protect construction workers from every accident that could possibly befall them. The nature of the work is such that complete safety is not guaranteed or even realistically possible. However, that does not mean that the number of fall accidents that occur cannot be reduced. Quite often, it is not a true accident but actual carelessness that is the cause of injuries and deaths on construction sites. Many construction workers forego safety harnesses, for example, because they can be cumbersome and inconvenient. They can make the work take longer, and make it more difficult for the worker to move around. That is especially true in cases where required work means the construction worker will have to unhook and re-hook his harness frequently. This aggravation is a small price to pay for saving lives, but the value of a harness is only seen if the…

Capital Project
According to the AMA, capital budgeting is "the decision-making process used by companies to evaluate long-term investments in large capital assets" (Hampton, 2011). Zeit (2013) makes the point that construction projects are included in the category of capital investment decisions, and that designers and architects are often involved. eiter et al. (2000) argue that because of their size and critical strategic nature, "capital investment decisions are among the most important decisions made by firms."
What this means is that capital projects tend to be large-scale projects that have several key characteristics. They require a lot of money, to the point where that money may need to be acquired through financing. So construction projects in particular like new buildings or new wings would qualify. There is some ambiguity in the research if a takeover or merger would qualify as a capital project when financed with cash, but a small-scale acquisition probably…
