Communication is defined as both, the imparting or exchanging of information or news, and it is the successful conveying or sharing of ideas and feelings. The methods of communication can be verbal or non-verbal.

As approximately 93 percent of all communication is non-verbal, demonstrative communication is a necessary element of daily life. This paper examines this form of communication with the first section examining how it can be effective and ineffective or positive and negative for both the sender and receiver. The other portion of the article explores how demonstrative communication involves the process of listening and responding like other forms of communication.

Demonstrative communication is a style of communicating that does not involve words. Instead, it is the other part of communication - that includes gestures, facial expressions, inflection, and other issues that are part of the way people interact with one another. The demonstrative part of communication is particularly obvious cross-culturally, but can also cause problems for people in their own culture.

In viewing the many types of human communication and in understanding their respective abilities which allow us as humans to connect, demonstrative communication cannot be taken for granted. In understanding the different ways that humans who interact within this nonverbal spectrum communicate, one can see that nonverbal communication often leads to a greater gutteral and instinctive understanding of that the sender of a piece of communication means to put forth.
