The nature of philosophy is to define a truth so that other situations can be judged by it to determine the truth about those situations. In this regard philosophy is strikingly similar to science, which establishes principles and judges other phenomena by those principles. Several sources corroborate the truth of this information.

California’s costal ocean region is characterized with both positive and negative attributes. The California Coastal Region is along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. This area is a beautiful, desirable area to live in, causing real estate to be among the highest in the United States. In fact, this area was one of the fastest to recover after the great recession of 2008, due primarily to its natural beauty. In addition, the per capita income for families in the area is also usually higher than the general population in the country. This fact is intuitive as higher income families are those best able to afford the beauty and natural elements in which the California costal region offers. There are many rivers and streams that lead out to the ocean. The popular Redwood Forest is also within the vicinity of the costal region. There are beautiful mountains and sand dunes to enjoy. I think it is time that we all take a look at our own individual carbon footprints. I found several things in my life that were pretty ridiculous in terms of energy efficiency. One example is that I’m awful at leaving lights on even when I’m not using them. Another is that I always take my car even when it would be perfectly easy to walk. I hope that you will take a look at your own contributions to global warming. I also hope you will research the issue and begin to look at the issue from a political perspective as well. Every other country in the world has taken a stronger stance on this issue than ours. I think it is time that we all demand our leaders take global warming a little more seriously.

The level of understanding about how natural systems on the planet operate has become immensely sophisticated. Although there are still some issues that remain puzzling, on the whole, scientists have a fairly good understanding of the planets natural systems function. In recent years much of the research has been aided the technological advancements in computing power which allows for modeling systems such as the water cycle, the carbon cycle, and land area use. In fact the knowledge base has grown to a point in which scientist can predict with some accuracy the future of how the natural systems will be affected through the natural changes in these systems coupled with the human interactions that work to alter many of these systems.
