Both Fawcett et al. (2001) and Chinn and Kramer (2008) have developed a consistent nursing theory that has an enormous and direct impact n the practice of nursing, and on the practice of nursing education and learning.

This work in writing will utilize the Adaptation Model, nursing process and guidelines to complete a community assessment, analyze gathered data for implications for health care, formulate a nursing diagnosis for the community, and incorporate findings into the nursing process and formulate a care plan for a specific community problem.

This paper investigates whether there is a need to facilitate the migration of the foreign graduate nurse to address the shortage of nursing workforce in the United States. The paper identifies that there is an acute shortage of nursing personnel in the United States. To deliver high quality healthcare, the U.S should facilitate the migration of acute shortage of nursing personnel.

This paper presents a case study of appropriate evidence-based nursing practices in the treatment of an elderly female patient presenting with abdominal discomfort in a residential care setting. The symptoms are identified and a diagnosis of gastroenteritis is made. The paper proceeds to delineate the proper treatment of the patient and the preventative measures that are put into place to stop the spread of the virus to other patients in the advanced age facility. Studies are used throughout the paper to support treatment options and to describe the responsibilities of the nurse in administering care.
