There are many complexities in the health-care provision system, affecting the quality of health-care services in the US. Disintegration in health-care systems is a hindering factor, requiring unification between disciplines, for the enhancement of quality and synchrony. Promotion of collaboration between disciplines is a worldwide proposition for technology to advance healthcare providers interaction in their duties. Educating of more baccalaureate nurses, improving on the educational provision and using technology for the integration of healthcare would be an added advantage for elevating healthcare to greater levels. This would improve the use of evident based information as nurses interact with physicians. Country coalitions are a means of promoting the achievement of the IOM report, through the implementation of state based coalition plans.

With a solid grounding in ethnographic research—derived in part from living the life of an ethnographer—Leininger experienced and developed a creative process that resulted in the formulation of a concept, the articulation of a reformulation of that concept that borrowed from other disciplines and from her experiences in the field, and a resynthesis that eventually resulted in the development of a guide for the practice of cultural care and the development of nursing knowledge. Leininger's model is based on the broad approach that cultural care offers is the best way to research nursing knowledge and the concomitant practice of nursing and care. Through the Sunrise Enabler, Leininger provided as way for nurse practitioners to discover the patterns, processes, and meanings that contribute to the ability to predict well-being and to explain health care approaches. Leininger's overarching goal was to provide a theory that would support the development of congruent care and nursing practices.

One of the most effective interventions for the prevention and treatment of these and other conditions is physical activity. Several arguments are presented in support for the development of organized physical activity programs in prison. Issues such as necessity, usefulness, and cost-effectiveness are also discussed.

Media psychology receives increasing attention in the 21st century as the media landscape of the times is much more rich, diverse, and abundant than other periods in human history. Media is a much larger fixture in more people's lives around the world in the 21st century. The growing consensus among media critics, researchers, theorists, producers, consumers, and distributors is that media affects human behavior and attitudes. Therefore, the relevancy of media psychology augments as time passes.

Most people today probably recognize his signing voice from his hits such as "My Girl," but few may remember David Ruffin of The Temptations music group from the latter half of the 20th century. Like many of his contemporaries, Ruffin fell victim to the ravages of drug abuse during the height of his career, leaving his millions of fans with a musical void in their lives. To gain some further insights into his untimely death from an overdose of cocaine, this paper provides a review of the relevant peer-reviewed and scholarly literature to develop a background and an overview of Ruffin, his use of drugs, and an appropriate screening instrument that could be used to evaluate a similar client's stage of dependence, change or recovery. An application of this diagnostic tool to Ruffin's unique circumstances is followed by a discussion concerning possible placement options and treatment modalities for clients with Ruffin's diagnosis, and the rationale in support of their choice based upon a personal conceptualization and etiology of addiction. Finally, a summary of the research and important findings are presented in the conclusion.

Introduction As with structure, culture is methodologically analyzable by virtue of its emergent status. Indeed, like structure, culture has relational, causal properties of its own, which confront actualizing agency in the form of situational logics (Archer 2006: ch. 7). Cultural analysis is also a multi-level affair, from the doctrinal level, where, for instance, religious doctrine may contradict welfare policy, down to the micro-level. Just as any role within an organization can have contradictory requirements, so can cultural values. However, the problem currently vitiating the literature on ‘organizational culture' is precisely how one can examine the relative interplay between society's ‘prepositional register' and agency when culture is reduced to, or defined solely in terms of, what goes on at the level of causality. The realist assertion that culture as an emergent product has properties of its own is thrown out of the analytical window; or, following Archer, the S-C level is conflated with the CS level.
