This paper provides a brief outline of the historical development of nursing as a profession. It selects events that were critical in the generation of nursing as a respectable, professional discipline with a distinct theoretical perspective that was different from that of conventional medicine. It focuses on theorists and the influence of psychology and other social sciences on nursing.

According to two Washington Post articles, a 14-year-old Southeast Washington D.C. boy has been charged with felony murder and sexual assault of his 4-year-old sister who died from multiple blunt trauma.

In my personal statement, I described my own upbringing in a rather xenophobic culture and my struggles to overcome these biases not only professionally, but in my own life as well.

Applications for Strategic Management Theory: A Nursing Home Case Study

This paper looks at the technology of LTE (long term evolution) and how it is changing the face of wireless. Carriers who do not use LTE have much to consider, since they will receive both benefits and costs from changing over to LTE from what they are currently using. Specifically, this paper addresses the implications for stakeholders, the features of LTE, and whether corporations should change their technology.

The objective of this study is to examine transitioning from closed to open systems and how effective nurse leaders approach problem solving and decision making in organizations. This study will utilize systems theory in identifying an issue or process that could be improved and apply knowledge and strategies related to systems theory. This study notes that nursing leaders are responsible for assigning individuals to patient care that are educated, experienced and licensed to perform the specific duties to which they are assigned.

The ideal or model clinical supervisor is more than just a good one. Studies list several characteristics or traits and models that help shape him. A supervisor was interviewed and is rated according to the criteria set by these models and findings of research. He possesses many of the traits and passes the criteria.
