Effects of Alcohol on Prenatal Development
Women who drink alcohol during pregnancy risk the health of the fetus and implicitly, the health of the child after birth. There are few studies made on humans in what concerns alcohol and interferences in prenatal development. That is why research is primarily based on animal studies. It is difficult to determine the exact amount of alcohol that can influence the fetus' development in a negative way and that is way women who plan to have a baby or women who found out that are pregnant should stop drinking during their pregnancies. Some of the most important consequences of severe exposure to alcohol during pregnancy are fetal alcohol syndrome or the death of the fetus. Lie detection methods and psychological research
The study, "Early versus Late Disclosure of Evidence: Effects on Verbal Cues to Deception, Confessions, and Lie Catchers' Accuracy" by Jordan and colleagues attempts to pinpoint the elements of coerced confessions among other aspects in subterfuge. The dilemma with this study is that all attempts to make it seem as organic and realistic as possible in order to capture genuine human responses were not well executed, such as the mock interrogation room. No parts of the study design were strong or compelling enough to elicit aspects of human behavior that could provide a consistency or organic quality of response. Furthermore, the researchers often fall into the trap of creating research designs which are too complex to provide real use.

Cried, You Didn\'t Listen: A Survivor\'s Expos
Long ago in the dying years of the 17th century, the authors of a satire on human society, called The Roaring Girl, criticized the jail system noting that it was a place that bred criminals rather than reformed them. Abbot‘s book, I Cried, You Didn't Listen: A Survivor's Expose of the California Youth Authority, is evidence of the truth of this statement. Taken from his family when young, one wonders who is more to blame, - Abbot's family (particularly his parents) who didn't provide him with the needed care or the national system that so cruelly exploited him and turned a naïve, innocent child into a hardened, unrepentant criminal.
