This is significant, because this information can be used to show how the school handled the situation wrong. In the case of a California high school, this has created divisiveness, where the teacher and students want to discuss what is happening. While the school district, is trying to balance the rights of the individual with needs of the community. As a result, counseling services need to be offered to those who engage in such actions, as this will help to deal with a host of psychological issues they are going through. Over the course of time, this will help to mitigate the negative side effects, by allowing the individual to have variety of issues addressed that were more than likely ignored.
