The first and most obvious note of caution I would provide to Brain based on the case scenario is to eliminate the guesswork from his plan/proposal. He should know, not believe, that there is a market for CD rentals, and should have an empirical method of predicting rentals-per-customer in order to reasonably guess at his revenues. The issue of expenses is also not addressed at all; licensing and production costs will be astronomical at the outset, and no mention of original capital is made in his business proposal. He should conduct broader and more scientific consumer polls -- not just obtaining the opinions of his friends -- concerning the willingness to rent CDs, the most effective price point that consumers would be willing to pay for rentals, and other features such as desired rental length, etc. He should also conduct research concerning the cost of mp3 albums transferred digitally -- which provide the same full-album listening experience as CDs with less hassle -- and possible rental programs that might already exist or are planned with such technologies. Understanding the market and the competition are absolute necessities.

His friends are likely to be supportive of his idea, no matter how good or bad it is. Brian needs a less biased set of individuals to act as a feedback wall. Bounding ideas off of just his friends is a significant error that is filling Brian with enthusiasm that he probably should not have. 3. If Brian is serious about investigating this opportunity, I would recommend that he take

I would also caution Brian about some of this other assumptions. He is assuming that he can get a discount from CD producers without confirming this. Indeed, rarely do such entities sign into favorable agreements with underfunded startups. I would also caution Brian about entering into this business without a long-term business plan. Even if his wild, uninformed assumptions prove to be prescient in the short-term, the technological shift represented

With the right management, it may be possible for Tanzania to build a sustainable tourist industry gradually based upon historically established trends and the traditional tourism industry transitioning to the new eco-friendly tourism types. These types take into consideration the needs of indigenous peoples and empower them by bringing traditional cultural practices to play in the effort to conserve wildlife and habitats.
