One student who was constantly disruptive was told he could not participate in a class field trip, after several warnings from a teacher. His parents appealed to the school administrators, saying that it was unfair to deny him the ability to go on the trip. However, given that the teacher had arranged the trip and informed the student that improved performance in school was essential for him to be eligible for attending, the administration supported the teacher in her dealings with the student.
