¶ … communities and academia work together on public health research? The article was a formative evaluation of the first 4 years of the Detroit Community-Academic Urban Research Center (URC), a community-based participatory research partnership that was founded in 1995 with funds from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The goal of the research was to examine the evaluation efforts looking at the URC, and presents the results of those evaluations so that people funding community partnerships can assess those partnership approaches to public health. The evaluations were qualitative, rather than quantitative in nature, though the researchers made efforts to codify the results so that they could be presented in a quantitative manner as well as a qualitative manner. By doing so, they could see, at a glance, how many of the stakeholders mentioned particular parts of the project in a positive way and how many of them mentioned particular parts of the project in a negative way. The evaluation focuses...
For 1996, they used a series of in-depth semi-structured interviews with then-current board members and key stakeholders. For 1999, they used a series of in-depth semi-structured interviews with then-current board members and key stakeholders. The interviews had 100% response rates. For the interview results, the interviewer and an assistant both took written notes; the notes were reconciled, and then transcribed. Results were then coded to see potential matches between the different responses of the various stakeholders.…
Public Administration The ultimate aim of a public administrator is the provision of best facilities to the public and to make decisions in a way that have a positive influence on interest of the public. Public Health Preparedness The concept of 'public health preparedness' (PHP) has been garnering recognition worldwide, given the global-scale threats which are constantly encountered by professional healthcare organizations, including bioterrorism, Ebola, the West Nile Virus, and influenza. A majority of PHP measures adopted in America are government-judged; this gives
Schools and Education Over the last several years, the field of education has been facing tremendous challenges. This is because of shifts in how they address a host of issues and there are changing demographics of students. In other respects, however, the evidence does not readily conform to theoretical predictions. For example, if gross job turnover is taken as a rough proxy for labor market flexibility -- and since stringent EPL reduces both hiring and firing -- it is quite surprising to find that job turnover rates are very loosely related to EPL rankings. Most remarkably, not only are the estimates for Italy and France, at

Ultimately, the researchers found that when communities "support the arts, [they] not only enhance the quality of community life but also invest in their economic well-being" (Cohen, Schaffer, & Davidson, 2003, p. 30). The researchers concluded by noting that while "the very
