Milestone Mobile Model Business Problem: The trend toward the use of diverse types of phone and tablet equipment presents some significant use problems for those who must rely on certain types of equipment that are tethered to their business resources -- kind of like the limitation that some online video games have in their needing to be connected to console equipment. Milestone has recognized this need and developed a free XProject Mobile video monitoring application that allows for its customers to be "close to what is important" (Milestone, 2012). Their system utilizes variations of onsite camera and site security packages to monitor locations for improper behaviors and activities as well as business efficiency. The release of the free Android-compatible Xproject Mobile seeks to sustain the video connection without losing access to key video viewing, capturing and sharing capabilities. The company sees itself as the maker of the "true open platform IP video management" domain (Xproject Mobile, 2012).

Milestone looked to address this issue by being one of the first companies in the visual platform sector to create a network of sales and technical experts who were capable of responding to the needs of affordability and adaptability by clients from a diversity of private and public business sectors.
