There are several ways that the university can make the school more diverse without violating the Hopwood decision. The student body currently has 34% of undergraduates even though the university immediately brought its admission policies in line with the Hopwood Decision. The university is firmly committed to having a student body with differing backgrounds and perspectives. In the past academic scoring has not been the deciding factor of whether a student can attend this university. What the university is looking for in admissions is students who will make leaders in the community. Visits, follow-ups, and communication is a vital measure in getting diversity and the quality of students that the university wants.
