There have been several memorable moments in the films we have watched in class. For instance, in the Leopard Man, the scene in which the killer believes to hear castanets being played and a woman walking towards him provides psychological insight into the killer's mental state; he was not only paranoid, but appeared to be haunted by his crimes. Hyde (the dog) attacks Carruthers -- the white trainer -- is impactful because it insinuates that animals can learn to rationalize and attempt to hold those that harmed them accountable for their actions. Also impactful is when Julie is approached by the dog's owner and his two granddaughters and realizes the kind of man he is, warning the young girls to never listen to a word the old man has to say. The images portrayed in the House is Black are also impactful because they allow the audience to see how horror can be manifested in real life and explains that because people do not appear normal, they do not have the same needs and wants as people who are not stricken with a similar illness.
