Here we see various lessons that include "Relative Advantage" (Rogers, 1962): Apple's continuous attempts to improve their innovations. We also see the need for energy, open-mindedness, keeping in touch with the market's needs, and flexibility (amongst other important characteristics of innovators).

Their iPod, introduced in 2001, is easy-to-use, simple in design, has superb performance and is "cool, hip, polished, and different." With all these characteristics, iPod and Apple have become a huge success indicating another of Roger's lessons namely that Simplicity is an essential joy for the success of innovations. An innovation that is simple to use as well as elevating to the person's esteem / status will be quickly and popularly embraced.
