Apple and Microsoft are currently two of the most successful corporations on earth and in spite of the fact that they tend to direct their attention toward similar products it is intriguing to observe that they use different strategies in order to achieve goals that are basically the same. One might be inclined to consider that the two companies are extremely different because one sells hardware while the other sells software. However, when considering that they are concerned about putting across the same message considering innovation and that both company are currently actively involved in playing an important role in helping people become mobile, it appears that they are actually very similar.

One of the biggest differences between Apple and Microsoft in the context of corporate culture relates to how each company provides the masses with information concerning their next products. Secrecy is a very important concept for both of them and it is practically a tool to get fans to do everything in their power in order to speculate on what will happen next. While Apple prefers to intentionally leak information and pretend that it has been caught off-guard, Microsoft typically provides its users with teasers concerning its products.

Apple puts across a more casual attitude in dealing with these groups while Microsoft appears to be more rigid. It practically seems that Apple puts great emphasize on personal relationships with customers and employees while Microsoft simply wants to have them acknowledge the quality of the company's products.
Apple's current success is largely owed to the idea of leadership, as the company has managed to thrive as a result of having a great leader. In contrast, the fact that Bill Gates has been less involved in making Microsoft achieve success meant that the company was unable to progress on account of having a large number of smart employees, good technology, and the ability to dominate the market.

The fact that Apple was nearing bankruptcy in 1996 influenced Microsoft to invest 150 million dollars into the company in an attempt to save it. The fact that Apple later grew to compete with Microsoft thus reflected positively on Bill Gates' company, taking into account that he made an important profit as a result of taking advantage of Apple's condition in the early 1990s. "Of course, as we all know, the company would eventually turn out strong and to this day, Microsoft may even regret not letting Job's name go under, as Apple has a hold on a market which Microsoft seems to be forced out; smart phones."
