NCAA As Myles, the issues confronting me in regards to accepting an offer from a Big East or ACC school virtually all pertain to my future, which is stratified into both short-term and long-term goals. The objectives are of course to embark on a professional sports career in which I am able to provide for my family and my progeny -- which is the long-term goal. The short-term goal is to figure out the best way of doing so, which can either involve basketball or baseball, college or getting drafted by a professional team. Since sports is the path I have elected to provide for my family, there are issues of injury and fame to consider. Ideally, the objective is to refrain from sustaining injuries and to involve myself in a program that will gain as much attention as possible to so that I can most effectively market my talents. Finally it is necessary to discern what types of coaches are involved at the sports teams I am considering, which can greatly affect an athlete's success.

My professional basketball and baseball options involve enrolling in a collegiate program or attempting to get drafted by a professional sports team. Both options have the potential to yield considerable lucrative options. Additionally, it is possible to take the former option in able to get a higher pick and more benefits in the latter option after a couple of years in college.

Financially, it is advantageous for Emmert to continue his appeal of the lawsuit in which a Ninth Circuit judge in New York ruled that collegiate athletes actually are able to get paid, particularly in video games in which their likenesses and images are used. Thus, Emmert should continue working with his legal team to successfully appeal the aforementioned decision. Furthermore, he should continue to do so until his case reaches the Supreme Court, if success is not met immediately.

From a public relations and marketing perspective, Emmert should continue to play up the angles that the NCAA and colleges in general are already compensating their student athletes in ways that do not involve payment. Instead, they are granting them an education which is priceless, especially since the bulk of athletes (particularly those who are popular enough to warrant the issuing of their likenesses and images on video games) are already attending schools…
