Lincoln Park Zoo Grade Course

Recreational activities can be termed as a necessity for every individual despite his age, social status or society. A man with a 9 to 5 job would certainly prefer a vacation or a short weekend road trip. A housewife who is busy taking care of her children and dealing with the household chores all day long would long for a change. Similarly, children attending schools, tuitions and taking exam would prefer an entertainment to get a break from their routine life. This is because of the fact that humans often want change from their daily routine which builds up stress, work load, tensions and burden them up with worries. Consequently, it is not only their work or the responsibilities which are adversely affected, but their health and well being is also compromised. Therefore, although every man would want shelter, food and clothes for their living, no person should stay away from fun.

A leisure activity, a weekend trip or a short vacation would give them a break from their mounting responsibilities and also create a room for a quality life. However, while talking about entertainment and activities, it is important to mention that it may vary from one individual to the other. This is on the basis of their interests, their financial background along with other responsibilities which would influence the way in which he seeks enjoyment. If one person prefers a Europe tour, the other one would find the sea to be refreshing and serene. Some would opt for a movie while others would be up for a museum. To keep up to such standards and desires, every city provides people with a number of different recreational options which fit into their budget and preferences thereby providing them contentment and satisfaction.

Therefore, while focusing upon entertainment and joy, a number of places would strike the mind. These are present in numerous numbers across the globe. Disney world, Kansas Amusement Park, Niagara Falls and many such other places are worth a visit. People loathe visiting these sites. However, while discussing the different places of attraction, it would be correct to consider Chicago as a city of unsurpassed beauty and excellence.

Having an area of approximately 60,000 hectares, Chicago is situated on Lake Michigan where the city's top attractions include sports, architecture and parklands which draw several million visitors from all around the globe. Chicago being a multicultural society has efficiently succeeded in spreading the message of harmony and cherishing diversity across United States of America. In addition, the city is also popular for putting in efforts while providing education, security, infrastructure and other facilities to the people living there. Chicago is well-known for places and attractions like the Millennium Park, Chicago Cultural Center and many others. All these places catch the attention of many people. This is also true for the parks and other recreational places which draw people of different age groups belonging to various places.

Among the many attractions of Chicago, the Lincoln Park Zoo stands out. It is a 35 acre area which was created in 1868. It is renowned for being a free-admission zoo in America. Glancing at the year when it was established, it is correct to state that it is the most historic places of the country with unique zoological facility that attract millions of visitors every year. As a matter of fact, the place has special distinguishing feature associated with children. Kids around the globe like adventure and fun. They love to come across things that intrigue them and curb the curiosity (Lincoln Park Zoo, 2012).

After all, nobody would like to sit back at home and miss the opportunity of meeting the best gorillas and chimpanzees of the world. At the Lincoln Park Zoo, the adventure has no admission fees. How wonderful it would be for kids to see the wildlife in real. The documentaries, news reports and films covering such animals would be live. All this can happen by paying a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Elders want children to grow up early and develop into mature beings. In order to aid this process, scholars and psychologists have mentioned several techniques, experiences and objects which help children get in acquainted with reality. Probably they should also incorporate the event of visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. This is because of the fact that children from a very young age come across stories and television programs which introduce them to such things and objects which...

Such things only appear as fictional character represented in movies or in their textbooks. Quite often they hear about monkeys and gorillas to be mammals which enjoy bananas. Hearing them an visualizing them as characters have just been a part of their imagination making such animals and stories to be merely fictional and invisible. However, upon visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo, they would be able to see these imaginary often heard characters as real. As a result, the visit and the experience would help them transition from their imaginary world to reality where these animals are no longer fake. This would not only help them accept these animals as a part of the real world but also prepare them to face many such other events and incidents which occur in the real world. Apart from the role of transitioning played by the visit to the Lincoln Zoo, the place would also help children strengthen the skill of imagination and abstract thinking (Jam, F. 2010).
Going to the Lincoln Park Zoo would greatly benefit children by not only giving them a break from their usual studying and napping routine but it would also influence their well being, cognitive thinking and learning. They would experience and enjoy the different languages of the animals and upon seeing them with their own eyes they would be able to differentiate between the several categories of animals. At the Lincoln Park Zoo, children can also observe the eating habits, climbing activities, and other behaviors of animals around the globe. Not only this, the rides and the food available there would make the zoo a picnic spot for the kids. However, it is not only the duty of parents but also teachers who could influence children and take them to the free Lincoln Park Zoo where they can learn, play and enjoy their visit.

Since the visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo has a number of advantages for the children, they should be motivated, encouraged and attracted to come to this place. There are many ways to carry out this campaign. Some of the most easiest and effective strategies include informing children and their parents through a series of advertisements, bill boards and arranging special documentaries regarding this place which would be held at the schools of the children. These strategies are briefly discussed in this paper so that kids soon develop into a healthy individual (Howe, K. 2000).

Watching television is a part of a routine for people of all ages. However, the preference and interest of television shows and channels may definetly vary according to gender and age group. Since the Lincoln Park Zoo aims at attracting children, the place should be especially advertised on the cartoon or the channels most watched by the kids along with those television channels which show documentaries and explore wildlife. However, it is an underlying truth that it is also important to attract adults to visit this place so that they take their children to the Lincoln Park Zoo. For this reason, in order to keep the budget limited by also meeting the target, the Lincoln Park Zoo advertisements should be showed on the most widely watched tv channels that are preferred by children and adults respectively.

In order to attract the children towards visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo, the advertisement must provide details which look good and are easy to understand. This requires using a lot of images and vivid colors so that the message is conveyed more through imagery rather than the text or the verbal content being delivered. To attract kids, the advertisements should incorporate the different range of facilities present at the Lincoln Park Zoo. For instance, it can depict an interactive tour of the place with children visiting the real attractions present at the site. Seeing a child on the television would further interest kids when they will come across the variety which the Lincoln Park Zoo has to offer. The content of the adverticement could introduce the journey of the Pritzker Family Children's Zoo showing snakes, red wolves and bears. Similarly, other parts of the advertisement could include a glimpse of the African wildlife for which the zoo is famous for. The rainforests, gorillas climbing the trees and most interestingly showing families camping at the zoo while observing the cute sleeping and mingling behavior of the animals would interest children. As a matter of fact, the advertisements should be so persuasive that it should make children force their parents to take them to this place. In addition of highlighting the…
