DEMOCRACY & the IMPORTANCE of a STRONG MILITARY

The importance of a strong military cannot be denied and this is particularly true in a state of Democracy and in a country that cherishes its freedom from oppression from other powers in the world who would if possible, tread upon that freedom if not for the presence of a strong military defense.

PRESERVATION of DEMOCRACY

The work of General Hugh Shelton and John H. Dalton (2009) states that Americans "have always answered the call to service: to defend against powers who would threaten our security and to fight for the cause of peace in times of conflict." p.1 as stated by General Shelton and Dalton the world today is dangerous and this certainly while fading from focus as the Cold War ended once again has emerged as critical since the events of September 11, 2001.

CONTEMPORARY ASPECTS of MILITARY DEFENSE

The military defense of a country has many factions that must be considered in providing democratic protection through a strong military presence in the world and specifically in terms of cyber-security issues because the protection of ones' identity and personal information is an issue that has only emerged in the past few decades as being of primary importance.

SUMMARY & CONCLUSION

Democracy, or the right to live in peace while being a fundamental human right is all too often unknown to many places throughout the contemporary and global society. Because the world is so interconnected due to rapid globalization and integration of society, then it is not reasonable to believe that the threat of war will not affect the United States even if that war is on the other side of the globe.

Strong Females in Three Works Pygmalion: The female protagonist in George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion is Eliza Doolittle, and she begins her character development from a position of such awkward crudeness, sassiness and social weakness that she has a long, long way to go before she becomes a strong female. This makes her rise into feminism and womanhood and strength all the more dramatic. From rags to riches in a modest sense

Strong Families One question that has intrigued researchers in the field of family studies for many years is the question of what constitutes a strong family. Why are some families so close-knit with well-adjusted members who openly love each other and lead productive lives, while other families flounder in a quagmire of dysfunction and trouble? What are the qualities that make for success in families? Finding an answer to this

military readiness intrinsically declines the longer a military encounter is prolonged due to the wear and tear exacted by war. As such, it is important to gauge a country's level of military preparedness at the outset of any martial encounter to truly assess its readiness for protracted combat situations. There are a number of sources that attest to the fact that at the end of the 20th century, the

Addressing the Disadvantages of Military Involvement While the reasons for the involvement are obvious, the cons are outweighed by the advantages. Firstly, the two countries do not have to act in isolation. Military from both sides can be employed by formal consent between the two countries to better manage the borders and the diplomatic relations. Secondly, the cost of the military involvement is low as compared to the costs that are

Democracy / Liberty Is direct democracy desirable and/or possible today? Is direct democracy desirable and/or possible today? The question is addressed first theoretically, with reference to Montesquieu's Spirit of the Laws, which actually categorizes direct democracy as one of the corruptions into which a democratic system can descend, by an insistence on too much egalitarianism. Direct democracy is considered as an ideal, which is desirable insofar as it offers a critique of

P). Regarding freedom of association, the same concerns itself with permitting people in a given society to collectively defend, pursue as well as express those interests they regard or consider common. This freedom by virtue of inclusion into various human rights instruments as well as constitutions is considered one of the basic freedoms. Sometimes used synonymously with freedom of assembly, freedom of expression could also entail the freedom to gather for
