Project Manager
Many experts believe that there is not much of a parallel when it comes to the logistic operations in the Military and commercial organization. This proposal will show rather or not U.S. military logistics have no parallel in the commercial world -- from its scope and size to the lethal position of the term "mission-critical" throughout the course of wars. In this world, the soldier is the client waiting for products like bullets, food, water, medication and fuel for tanks and other war vehicles.
The purpose of the proposal is to gain a better understanding of the comparisons and differences among the two, with an end-state of affecting whether or not Military logistics measures or inline, superior or inferior to our equals in the commercial world.
Project Purpose/Justification
The corporate world supposedly holds a major advantage as compared to the military: It involves in its main activity on a day-to-day basis and can continuously assess, on the source of real-world knowledge, whether a given organizational structure, strategy, or technique is helpful.
Business Need/Case
The marketplace influences businesses to seek continuous improvements in their approaches; even a huge company, for instance General Motors or IBM, can be positively criticized in the marketplace by a much smaller participant if the larger business becomes satisfied. Nevertheless, innovations that are prosperous in one organization cannot merely be applied to other commercial organizations, let alone to military ones.
Business Objectives
The business goals for this project are in direct support of our corporate strategic plan to improve Technological advances in the areas of telecommunications and data processing by comparing the military operation with the commercial world.
The ultimate goal is to create an organization that can adapt more quickly and flexibly to new information
In general, it may well be that, to show that the military forces have always been viewed as the ideal strictly categorized organizations.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Obviously, military organizations are different from commercial ones. Maybe less clearly, the variation among military units and operations is such that the same organizational structure will not be appropriate for every situation. This study will show that the business world has a rich literature on organizational change, in addition to wide-ranging corporate experience with reorganization and acceptance of information technology. With due deference to the difference among military and commercial organizations, this paper will attempt to compare and show ideas on how to structure military establishments to take advantage of new information technology
