Within the context of the developed world, rudeness during routine interaction is now becoming as commonplace as it is ubiquitous. Rudeness has very profound implications on the overall communication and feedback networks that are present during a typical conversation. There are numerous causes and effects of rudeness during predictable conversations. The causes and effects are as varied as they are complex. However, in almost every scenario there are specific fundamental attributes that contribute to the use of rudeness. Many of these fundamental attributes can be avoided, which helps to foster a more collaborative conversation in regards to communication. Without appropriate awareness of these fundamental attributes, rudeness can negatively impact both communication and the relationships imbedded within those respective communications. The effects of rudeness are also quite varied as they will affect different individuals in different ways. Much like the causes of rudeness, the effects of rudeness are anchored in common underlying facts that help determine what the effect on the individual will be. All in all, the effects of rudeness on individual communications, and their subsequent relationships are both far reaching and profound.
To begin, as mentioned in the introduction, the causes of rudeness are varied. However there are often two common denominators in regards to its occurrence. The first is stress. Stress can occur in a varied of ways, but its presence often precludes rudeness. Stressful situations cause individuals to react in a rash and short-term oriented fashion. Stressed individuals often only see the near-term without any regard to the long-term implications of their actions.
