The organization's primary mission is to help others in times of dire medical need. Thus, in terms of the Red Cross vision, not only safety and medical is stressed, but communality and a community-focused, volunteer-oriented spirit in its members, and all volunteers who chose to service the mission of the American Red Cross, even those individuals not formally associated with the organization.
