This means that as a business leader, I have to possess the ability to constantly keep pace with both the customer and the moves that competitors are making if I am to succeed in developing the right vision and business strategy for my company and drive it forward on the path to growth and profitability. Further, a dynamic environment implies that I need to ensure that the organization I lead is constantly innovating in order to continuously develop competitive advantages and stay ahead of its competitors. The preceding recognition is an extremely important one and as such would form the basis of my leadership strategy.

By doing so, I believe that I would have laid the foundation for innovation and managing change effectively since this would send a message across the company that the management places a great deal of emphasis on coming up with new ideas that would add value to the organization. One of the major barriers to employees coming forth with suggestions and ideas is the fear of rejection and failure. A learning culture will, therefore, help in negating that fear as long as it is accompanied by a demonstration that the organization will, at all times, be supportive of employees even when mistakes are made.
Of course, mistakes can prove to be expensive. Therefore, in order to ensure that the risks of innovation are minimized, the next step I will take is to establish a procedure whereby all new ideas are evaluated for efficacy prior to being given a go ahead.
