This game certainly showed some of the more aggressive sides of all the boys. The fact that the boys stuck with it and turned it into a more violent game would indicate some issues of gender difference as well. The game continued to evolve until another boy got knocked off the jeep and went crying to his mother. Most of the other parents then stepped in and pulled their boys from the game. (Some kids appeared to be entirely unsupervised. I was surprised to find that I could not figure out who their parents or caretakers were.) This was one of the times when Will was forced to return to his father for a timeout.

When his father wanted Will's attention, he had to call to him more than once. There was a great deal of noise from the kids, but still Will did not seem to hear his father due to his focus on the play. In terms of sensory observations, I noticed that Will touched everything. He patted the heads of the different animals as he ran by; he smacked the side of the tree every time he went down the slides. He did not touch other children, but he was extremely tactile with the objects.
All in all, it was an interesting experience to actively watch a child actively play for 45 minutes. At the end of the observation, Will was a sweaty, but only slightly tired boy being led away to get ice cream by his father. I was left with many insights and observations into the life of wild Will.
