Question 2

The organization that I selected in this case is Lululemon. I have in the past purchased athletic apparel from the company. My experience as a customer was amazing. I was especially pleased with the friendliness and professionalism exhibited by employees. In my opinion, the company’s organizational strategy is crafted around the effective management of human resources, i.e. in relation to employee development and motivation. It is clear from the way that employees handle customers that they have been well trained on customer care and are excited about their roles and functions. Lululemon business strategy, as Thangavelu and Kvilhaugh (2021) point out, “is based on marketing a lifestyle rather than a product… promoting its “Lululemon Athletica” and “Ivivva Athletica”-branded products as steppingstones to an active and enjoyable lifestyle.” The organizational strategy is aligned with the business strategy in this case owing to the fact that for employees to be able to effectively engage customers and sell this particular lifestyle idea, they have to be motivated and skilled in the art of customer engagement.
