Deconstructing A Short Story: One Essay

How they feel about that and how they adjust to that are two of the most significant things they will ever deal with when it comes to their acculturation and their dreams. Santosh's outlook was one of defeat, because he arrived in America with specific dreams that did not come true. If he would have been willing to adjust his beliefs about America and about himself, he could have adjusted his dreams to the point where more of them would have come true. He did not have to be a prisoner, but he chose that route rather than consider how he could dream a new dream and remain involved in the country to which he desperately wanted to come.
