Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are three of the most renowned religions in the world and this is reflected by the number of followers supporting each religious ideology and by their background. In spite of the fact that there have been many conflicts between individuals following these three religions, they have a lot of similarities. The concepts that they put across made it possible for numerous individuals to express interest in wanting to live in accordance with their laws and gradually made them three of the most important religions in the world. While one might find it difficult to compare these religions due to their complex background, it is actually not very difficult to find correlations and differences between the three.

Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all monotheistic religions and they all go back to Abraham, considering that Abrahamic tradition has had a strong influence on each of them. Judaism is the first chronological religion that has emerged consequent to Abraham and it has, to a certain degree, had an influence on the other two religions. Jews regard Abraham as the first Hebrew individual and consider the Tanakh to be the first document relating to their history. The fact that they consider themselves to be the direct descendants of the patriarch Abraham makes it possible for them to regard other Abrahamic religions to be less complex. Christianity was founded by Jesus and Islam was founded by Mohammed several centuries consequent to the founding of Judaism.

There were a series of prophets in Judaism and most of them focused on putting across exemplary behavior in an attempt to have people employ moral attitudes regarding life. They also struggled to emphasize the importance of spiritual values with the purpose of criticizing individuals who concentrated on material values.

Even though many of the concepts that it contained were inspired from Judaism, Christianity grew into a religion that differed greatly from its source of inspiration. Even with this, Jesus acted similar to a Jewish prophet in influencing people to adopt moral approaches as they dealt with other individuals. Christianity practically revived most of the Western World through the ideas that it introduced. This religion came to have a strong influence on a set of domains during the first few centuries A.D. In spite of the fact that early Christians did not actually have a great influence on art and architecture, conditions gradually changed as they became more influent and as they started to express interest in experiencing progress in these fields. "The major surviving examples are mural and ceiling paintings in the catacombs of Rome and marble sarcophagi depicting Old and New Testament stories" (Kleiner 145).

The New Testament reflects early Christian feelings and when compared with the Old Testament demonstrates the ideas that Christians did not appreciate concerning Judaism. The Canonic Gospels are written by Jesus' apostles and are meant to depict his life and his teachings with the purpose of presenting Christians with more information regarding the attitudes that the religion promotes and the general character of Jesus Christ. Epistles were used as communication channels between Christians and between Apostles and various groups that they wanted to reach out to.

Islam is the youngest religion mentioned in this document and in spite of its relative small age it is one of the fastest-growing religions in the world. It has gathered a significant number of followers in a comparatively small amount of time. The religion's founder, Mohammed, experienced numerous connections with God during which he was instructed in regard to His commands and concerning the teachings that he needed to put across to his people. These respective teachings materialized into the Quran, a document believed by Muslims to be the ultimate revelation that Allah wanted people to have. The fact that this religion emerged at a time when mankind had experienced significant progress in comparison to the moments when Judaism and Christianity were founded made it possible for individuals interested in its theories to get actively involved in discussing it and in introducing more modern concepts in it. Philosophers such as Ibn Sina are particularly notable when considering early links between philosophy and Islam, regardless of the fact that some of his ideas had limited success in the Muslim world.
