¶ … skills that are vital in the professional field. Moreover, positive group experience has contributed to my learning and academic success. This project has allowed me to know more about myself. Collaborating with others has helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses (Hudson, 2013). For instance, I am good at generating ideas although I am a poor listener. Enhanced self-awareness will support my approach to learning and will be valuable in completing job application forms.

This experience has enhanced my knowledge on strategic planning process. I have learned that the scheduling of the organizational strategic planning process relies on the needs and nature of the business, including its immediate external atmosphere. For instance, planning is regularly conducted in a firm whose offerings are in a rapidly modifying sector. In such a case, detailed and comprehensive planning is conducted once or even twice annually. The organization looks at all the aspects of strategic planning. These are the vision, mission, timelines, budgets, objectives, goals and strategies. However, if an organization has been in business for many years and is fairly stable, then, strategic planning could be conducted only once in a year. Also, the management might concentrate on some parts of the planning process. These are budgets, objectives, responsibilities, which might be updated annually.

Through the project, I gained significant insights into organizational strategic planning. First, now I understand that strategic planning is a management tool. It is used to identify the vision, mission, goals, values, timeline among other things. Just like other management tools, it is applied for one reason only: to help an organization perform better. This involves ensuring people within the firm are working towards shared goals in response the dynamic business climate. Next, I have also discovered that strategic planning is effective if it supports strategic thinking and results in strategic management as it is the base for any successful organization. Strategic thinking implies having a definite purpose of the business, understanding the business climate and creativity in developing successful responses to the environmental forces. Then, it follows that strategic planning applies strategic thinking to organizational leadership.

Many schools now have students to engage in some group wiki projects. For example could be a discussion or preparation and presentation of a report supported by visuals. These assignments are made with high expectations. The groups must produce quality work, better than what the learners could achieve as individual. In some cases, these expectations are attained. However, there is always room for improvement. To this end, this section provides two suggestions for improving group wiki experiences.

It is important to emphasize the significance of group work. Before creating the group and setting out the task, there should be clear reason the assignment is being done in teams. Some students have the perception that teachers regularly use groups, so they do not have to teach. However, groups are being used in numerous fields so that people can work with other they do not know, who hold contrasting views, may not like and have different capabilities and skills (Hudson, 2013).
