In server mirroring method, two servers are used for the same purpose while in disk duplexing, two disk operators are used instead of one. Some important available products for fault tolerance include:

Ethernet's complete fault tolerant system. This is called Telemecanique® Connexium (TM) IP67 Ethernet switch. Along with this Ethernet also offers a wide range of products to make the system more resilient. A website indicates: "The Connexium family of Ethernet industrial hubs, switches, bridges and transceivers enable a complete Ethernet solution that supports a high level of resilience. Their scalable redundant features-from single to double-ring structures-make it easy to build fault-tolerant networks that fit specific environments."

NEC Fault tolerance server provides solution in a single box. These are two servers designed to provide non-stop power supply in order to protect data and avert potential risks to businesses in case of power failure. The two products available by NEC are the NEC Express5800/320Lb Fault Tolerant Servers, and the NEC Disaster Recovery solution. Novell similarly offers a large variety of fault tolerance solution including the SFT series, MTO and stand-by servers.

Windows is not far behind in this field. Windows Servers series is publicized as the most cost efficient fault tolerance solutions. Defining fault tolerant servers offered by Windows, the company states that these servers are those that provide redundancy across all hardware components. This means that if one component fails to work,...

Some of the enhanced features of Windows Server 2003 include:
Memory mirroring

Multipath I/O

Improvements in load balancing and failover for miniport drivers

Hot-plug PCI support

Hot-add memory support

While fault tolerance systems are needed in order to avoid potential loss of data and revenues, there are some drawbacks attached to their implementation. The most serious concern is that of costs incurred on these systems. Calculating the monetary costs is not a problem. Most of the firms would be incurring costs on additional servers, hard disks or disk controllers. But the more difficult task is to calculate just how these costs could be justified in the long run.

There are some specific worksheets available to calculate the costs and do a risk analysis. This helps in identifying the need for fault tolerance systems as well as determining if such an installation is required considering company's revenues and loss of revenues from network downtime.

ability of the system to perform its function even in the presence of failures," fault tolerance is a critical component of effective cloud computing systems (Jhawar & Piuri, 2013, p. 3). To improve fault tolerance, a system must be designed to anticipate errors, which is why fault tolerance can be considered a form of risk management. Usually, cloud systems with solid fault tolerance can handle functioning at reduced capacity

Examples are 10BaseT ethernet and 100VB AnyLAN networks. I would devise an intelligent hub that would have enhanced capacities for other features such as remote management capability. Switches are an addition o hubs and would also provide this prospective network with support capacities such as multiple bandwidths, bridge functionality, and router functionality. I will install a bridge that will filter data packets according to their various addresses. This will forward only

Because the system has a lot of user-defined capabilities, users gain the flexibility to configure the system to meet their specific needs. While there was a lot of detailed information in the case study, there were some information gaps. A definition of the types of faults the system detects, such as transient, permanent, or intermittent, and how the system handled the different faults would have been helpful. Also, knowing how

(RAID: searchstorage.techtarget.com) Necessity of an organization to implement RAID: RAID is important as sudden eventuality of data losses can be overcome by an organization so that information and data can be securely recovered. RAID is used to provide real-time, round the clock backup of the hard disk. The widely popular application for RAID is among the small enterprises. Experts constructing RAID systems for enterprise level businesses possess nearly several RAID levels

The first objective is to create an e-retailing strategy that capitalizes on multi-channel management, meaning that e-retailing site will be accessible over the Web, through specialized interfaces on Blackberries and PDAs, and also will have telephone ordering

solution of the heterogeneous data integration problem is presented with the explanation if the criteria to be employed in the approval of the validity. The tools to be used are also indicated. The proposed solution is to use semantic web technologies (Semantic Data Integration Middleware (SIM) Architecture) for the initial integration process (Cardoso,2007) and then couple it with broker architecture to improve integration and interoperability while solving the problem of
