This proposal concerns creating a business plan that will allow for the founding of a psychiatry office and all the considerations that go along with that project. It is therefore proposed that a psychiatry office be established by the author of this paper in an area of approximately 250,000 residents, preferably within the next year. The purpose of the office will be to offer services to young adults and children in need of psychiatry counseling in the pursuit of assisting these individuals in gaining a semblance of normalcy once again (or for the first time) in their lives. A recent study showed that "young adults with emotional and behavioral difficulties can be less prepared than their peers to take responsibility at the age of 18" (Lindgren, Soderberg, Skar, 2013, p. 103). That is true from both the business and the service viewpoint. The same study found that "team identification is one of the most important factors in defining one's identity" (p. 1171). It would be conducive therefore, that the leader of this project find individuals who will buy into the team concept and collaborate with one another in order to achieve the business goals and objectives.

Ensuring that the business runs smoothly will entail finding a Business Manager or Office Manager that will ensure the business runs on a day-to-day basis in the most effective and efficient manner possible. This person will also be responsible for hiring a team of professionals as needed. It is assumed that the business can be handled by just the office manager at the beginning, but that as the business grows, it will necessarily need additional personnel such as a secretary who will be in charge of scheduling, a billing professional, a marketing professional and additional medical professionals to fill the demand for services.

An important component of a successful practice is locating the office in a viable area. In this case, a professional medical center in…
