Green Pet Store For any business, it is important to have a mission and/or vision, because these will set the firm's strategic direction. The mission statement lets the stakeholders know why the company exists (Khatib, 2008). The vision statement provides a vision of the future that can guide the company's actions. These both tie into the strategy of the company. For example, the pet food store that focuses on green pet supplies should have a vision and mission that reflects on the company's role in the pet food industry.

The mission statement for the company will be "To market ethical pet supplies, allowing people to promote their personal values through their pets." A good vision statement might be "To become the world's largest ethical pet supplies retailer."
